Hi Guys - Had my weigh in this morning and am reporting a 0.5 weight loss.

Could have done a little better I suppose; however it was my daughters 30th on Friday so we had a bit of a do and I had a bit of a drink. And of course once you get a few drinks under your belt the diet is out the window (in my case it went out the window and went straight into orbit!!):o

    Another 9.5 pounds to go!

    Love

  • Hi everyone!

    Welcome to the newbies :D

    Well done Vix:T

I've had quite a good week this week but I just hope it shows on the scales when I get weighed tonight. I've tried to stick to green days as I find I'm less likely to pick at junk when I fill up on pasta.

Well done on you're loss Marion, 0.5lb is better than nothing, especially if your enjoyed your drink;)

    morning all!

had a rotten day yesterday for food but a great day for everything else. No excuse, I felt like pigging out. It's wasn't horrifically bad but at least I'm out of the habit of doing it both sat and sun. I think the rot set in when i got up at stupid o clock to do a 7 hour roast lamb recipe. By 9 i was starving and when oh requested a proper fry up with cream in the eggs and mead in the mushrooms I was well ready to oblige him.

well done vix on your sport relief mile! I don't like yoghurt either - it's that funny sort of a tang that I don't like. I really like the ww dessert yoghurts thoguh - they don't taste like yoghurt at all. Speaking of WW, my nana was a real sweetie and saved a series of diet books out of the paper for me. Alas, they are WW, and having flicked through them I think SW is better for me. So pm me if you want them! It's 5 weeks of a six week plan and it has 2 menus that you can mix and match each day.

bought my trailer yesterday. Don't they bounce when yu go over speed bumps! daddy told me i had better slow down or all my shiny new pottery will jump out and smash on the road.

Hi everyone and welcome to all the newbies/returners, great to have you on here!

A few things to say before I forget - Well done Vix on the run! Happy Year Moving In Together Suggsy! Well done Marion on the loss and good luck to anyone else to WI.

Okay guys, I'm coming here cap in hand really, looking for some help. I'm really struggling at the mo and would love some support as I'm stuck. I can't quite work out what's going on - my metabolism is very slow from my illness and I've not been so well lately but I don't know if this is reason enough. I'm eating whatever I want (too much) and considering this, it's amazing that I haven't put on loads of weight really. I've been the same for quite a while now and I don't know where to go with it. I thought of listening to my body again and ONLY eating when I'm hungry but I rarely feel hungry so this could slow my metabolism down even further. I really can't face the idea of following a plan that involves weighing things or counting points (because of my history) and I don't want the WL to be the most prominent thing in my life - getting well is my priority. I know this sounds like I'm being defeatist but I'm really not - I do want to lose the weight but it's a fine balance between making progress and becoming obsessive (which'll lead to disaster). Can anyone help me please? It's so difficult to know how much of this is me ie I can control and how much is out of my hands ie illness-related. Any help/reminders gratefully received, things seem to have completely escaped me :(

Could you just risk listening to your body for a week Bails and see what happens? You couldn't do much damage in that short time, I'm guessing.

Eating little and often is supposed to speed up your metabolism, as is eating spicier food, drinking green tea, eating more protein (or carbohydrate!) , walking in the evening and being very cold or very hot..... But that could be old wives tales ... don't know what the scientific basis would be for any of these.

As you can see, I have no idea.

Um............ hello everyone, think I might be reporting gain on Thursday  !!!!!!

Its my birthday on Wednesday and my dearest friend from 120 miles away drove down today to surprise me and take me out for lunch. Had Tandoori Chicken slices on salad leaves and spinach with a mango, yoghurt and mint sauce - lovely!! And a glass of red wine.

What is she worrying about you must all be thinking????

THEN the dessert menu came and they had Amaretti Ice Cream with cookies - SORRY, this is my failing as I LOVE Amaretti Ice Cream!!

I reckon my whole lunch was something like 18 points, I had already had 7 pts and I'm allowed 24 a day and thats with no tea!!!

We're also out for a meal on Wednesday night to a fab Italian!

Think I'll go for a walk now

    well done retiredlady, the dragon:j :j :j

bails to start the metabolism going faster it is advised to eat little and often like I was saying with the lunch box diet, eat all the right things, you don't have to weigh, point count, worry etc just head straight for all the good stuff and scoff away often, often being the reason the metabolism speeds up, does not feel starved and looses weight rather than store up the fat desperate for more food and gets into panic mode whenever the usual food is eaten, grazing is good:D
