Hope you had a lovely birthday on Thursday Petrichor! I loved your post because it was on my birthday last year that I had my "light bulb" moment about the weight I'd gained. I started my diet right there and then, I thought I wanted to lose a stone - never dreamed I'd go on to lose three stone! I can only echo everything you've said. It's all SOOOO worth it!

I've had a great week this week, sticking to a strict 1200 cals/day, no deviations, no pigging - just trying to lose the couple of extra pounds that had crept back on and a little bit extra so that I can eat whatever I want when I go away. I admit I had lost focus a bit (too busy ebaying I think!), but it's good to know I can rein it back in when I need to!

BB - sorry about your computer problems. I am surprised a full system restore didn't fix it  I take it you've tried using a different internet browser? (Sorry if that's been suggested/done already).

Delly, sorry about your bad week too :( Good things MUST be just around the corner and when they come I hope you get loads of them at once.

Kymrob, I swear by hand weight exercises to keep the arms nice and tight!

I have a completely free weekend! :T What a luxury, don't even have many chores at home to do. Hope everyone else has a good one xx

Sorry you had a horrible week dellybelly. I hope next week is better.
bails, I have had a few lessons like that in the past and you wonder why you bothered. I'd put it down to experience and blame the weather or something that has happened in a previous lesson. Was it windy yesterday? That always makes the blighters difficult to work with?
Bb and kpc I still haven't decided what to do about joining or not joining SW. I was really sensible in my eating yeaterday then today DH made me cheese on toast. I hadn't the heart to refuse it after he was being so sweet. We are home alone until tomorrow afternoon as kids have gone away for the weekend. My kids are 23,22, 19 and 18. We deserve a weekend without them as it hasn't happened often in the last 24 years.

BB, if you normally use Internet Explorer then perhaps try giving Firefox a go, and vice versa. Don't know which you are normally using but IE can be a bit "buggy" sometimes. Feel free to PM me about it (not claiming to be an expert but I'm reasonably savvy).

Only one person has noticed my shorter hair by the way, I had a good 6 inches cut off and it's shorter than it's been in years now! Feels very strange when washing and brushing!

Victory have you posted the recipe for the mash and gravy? Or is it a make it up as you go along sort of thing? It sound like real comfort food and free for us SW peeps on a green day too.
the gravy is 1/2 point on WW and is all purpose gravy....
frylight, 1 small onion chopped(I use frozen quicker and it is already diced saves the tears:rotfl: )25g or 10z of plain flour, 16flo oz of veg stock, 1tbsp of light soy sauce,1 tsp of tomato puree and freshly ground pepper.

I add mushrooms to mine gives it more depth of colour and flavour and they are free on WW, frylight the onions, stir in flour for 2 mins, gradually blend in stock, soy sauce and tom puree, bring to boil, heat and simmer for 10 mins.
    Gorgeous:D

The mash is from cook yourself thin, carrot, swede, celeriac, turnip, boil then mash either completely or bitty I like it bitty not like puree, no added butter or anything and pour over the gravy, yum:D

Before it would have been huge amount of potato mash with gravy ,loads of cals, loads of carbs, this is just as comforting but less on the waist line:D

suzy no just food shopping, bought the new gorge forman salmon in BBQ glaze he has got out in the black packets, lovely , love salmon, reminds me of summer:rotfl:

Hi all, can I join? Well impressed with how you're all doing!

I've been trying to go it alone, like many here, but my progress is a bit stop-start, so thinking of joining slimming world or similar.

    Anyway, HI :hello:
    Anytime;)
