Hi all, thanks sooooo much for the welcome Beanielou, petrichor, victory, and missyg, especially after my desertion,:o . Not much to say except that it was one of those years where all you can do is survive and keep things together from day-to-day.

Love the hedgehog cake, petrichor, yuumm:D

I've been trying to follow healthy eating and exercise, but it's up and down depending upon coursework / family demands, so tends to be 5lbs off, 4 back on, when laziness/chocolate gets the better of me;) . So thinking of joining slimming world, just have to find out more about it.

Gorgeous weather here too, really warm as well.

    thanks again, Jay
    Anytime;)

    So, jay11 - et bienvenue - was it sometimes a touch of over-'dessertion' ?
Your following sentence rings very, very, very true, too, but we're survivors aren't we?
So far, no idea how I'm doing, but I'm finding my digital electronic scales a boon. A 50gm potato is VERY tiny, smaller than an egg!
    If I now say 'Bon Appetit', it's WubbleU-WubbleUly meant.:D

    And what's this taunting nonsense?
Gorgeous weather here too, really warm as well.

bails, I have had a few lessons like that in the past and you wonder why you bothered. I'd put it down to experience and blame the weather or something that has happened in a previous lesson. Was it windy yesterday? That always makes the blighters difficult to work with?

Thanks Poohbear. It was a supply lesson for a start and their teacher's been away for over 4 weeks, and there was a fight going on outside which an SEN pupil couldn't handle - he was the excuse the others needed to do v little last thing on a Friday afternoon! Oh well, there's always next time... and if I get my own classes it'll make a big difference I hope.
BTW, I hope you enjoyed the cheese on toast, and you definitely deserve a weekend off!!

Welcome Jay, nice to have you back on board! BB among others has had great success with SW so I expect she'll pop up to help you soon (she's having trouble with her PC).

Dragon, Happy Birthday!:bdaycake: I'm sorry you were too ill to enjoy it but let us know when you're feeling up to it and we'll have a party then!

Vix, the lengths you'll go to to get another lb off...:D

Went to the gym this morning and had a lovely time with OH - sauna, steam, jacuzzi, swim (only 357m but a start). Also had the first good night's sleep in a long time last night, thanks to a shiatsu from OH so happy about that! Craving a roast dinner, thought we'd be chjekky and invite ourselves to parents but my mum's had the cheek to go shopping ;)

hello peeps. Phew it's a relief to feel myself on here! But only coz I'm borrowing OH's laptop while he'd nipped out for [strike]biscuits [/strike]essential supplies. It's been a horrid week, what with ghastly drug side effects, a rare bout of a irritable, 'who needs a good stabbing' PMT and OH being turned down for 2 jobs. However, it feel like the start of a better week today. Side effects on holiday, and I've been doing a bit of sorting and chucking. Had a fright with weight in the week, suddenly put on 3lbs and it felt like the start of the unstoppable upward trend we have all experienced in the past- you start thinking, oh a couple of lbs don't matter I can easily get them of, but you don't and the lb's creep up...really scared it was down to the drugs. Relieved to say I have got go them off so hopefully a PMT induced panic.
Welcome Jay - sorry we were a bit slow off the mark welcoming you yestersday, and really glad you shouted louder :D . I'm a fan of SW, so any questions fire away, but as bails said, I'm having a few problems communicating at the mo. But there other a number of us on here who can answer questions.
Thanks a lot pet for the helpful PM. All good techie advice, but I'm still in the 'bury my head in the sand and it will all go away' phaze:rotfl: .But will keep your PM for when I can face doing something. Thanks too Missyg.
Dragon - I can recommend what I did this year, and have an official birthday, once better!
I try to take one day at a time, but sometimes several days attack me at once
