Danger time!!!! It's the afternoon nibble time. Usually I pick food that's not too bad but it still adds to my calorie intake. So I thought I'd take a look on here instead.

Suggs - good luck, I am in awe. I would love to be fit enough to even think about doing the marathon.

Retiredlady - hello I'm a newbie. If it's any consolation I think 1lb is great. I too have to really work hard to lose weight. I been exercising my botty off and still no loss. I do however feel better! I used to be with Weightwatchers and a few did the 'Gosh I've lost weight without even trying' bit too. The only thing was I live around the corner from the meeting hall which is also around the corner from the playing fields and one of the said ladies would be out there come rain or shine jogging whilst bright red in the face!
    I would if I could but I can't so I won't!

1lb loss IS great and anyone who thinks otherwise should be made to type their posts with 1lb wrist weights on ;) (Just kidding Marion....!) (Actually that sounds like a good way to build up some arm muscle, hmmm).

Just ignore the boastful ones who seem to think it's so easy to shed the pounds. Imagine yourself in a year's time, at target and maintaining beautifully, while they've piled all their losses back on again - and more - from the very same pizza, drinking, curry etc.

Oooh missyg, go me! I've just sold my ebay item for £10.84 and am well chuffed with that - was only going for 99p this morning which felt hardly worth the effort of wrapping and posting I must say. Like your bran idea. I used a 'for and against' list when decided whether to sell up (from Frimley)and move to Brighton 9 years ago. I was in an isolation ward at Frimley Park at the time with 80% of my skin dropping off and wrapped head to foot in banadages like a mummy. I'd reached a point where I thought my life can't get much worse than this, what else can I do to try an improve it. When I looked at the list I realised all the 'againsts' were fears and knew I had to jolly well face them and do it. Best decision I ever made as despite health issues my life really started again when I came here. When people I meet say I am so lucky to live in Brighton, I always say it isn't luck, it was very scary but I made it happen.
treadmill.gif+ exbike.gif = th_thewinnerissmilie.gifSuggs! That's a huge mental achievement to even apply. Brilliant. Fingers crossed you get a place.

hyper.gifhurrah, grannynise is back. Shame about the weather. I am sure the food was worth it and you will lose it all in the next few weeks. Then you have the whole summer term to loose another stone without distractions:D .
Well done marion and missyg onn your losses. I'm struggling to lose the extra few lbs at the mo, I keep eating just a little too much. I start the day well enough but little extras creep in. Doesn't help I've been feeling a bit down in the dumps the last few days. But I really do what to get the extra few off and get back to target. Have just ordered clothes for a wedding online in size 14, and as they have to do for a big family wedding in August, I have to stay the same size:D
Victory: have you tried freecycle for a freezer ? They do get snapped up quickly but worth a go.
I try to take one day at a time, but sometimes several days attack me at once

Victory - are you in or near London? I have a perfectly good fridge/freezer that I am about to put on Freecycle.

Good Luck Suggs I'd love to do something like that, but I'm so unfit at the moment, ten minute on the treadmill kills me :o

I didn't end up going for a walk in the end, it starting raining just after I replied to this. Did do some vigorous cleaning instead though  Just been making a list (oh how I love my list) of stuff I need to buy for my hols and it's made me realise it's really not that far away. Time for me to get my wobbly backside into gear I think!

Yae, welcome back Grannynice, you were missed too! Sorry the weather was pants, PLEASE don't go on the sunbed though. Don't worry about the holiday gain, I'm glad you enjoyed yourself.

WAY TO GO Suggs! :T:T Definitely, definitely go for it, the atmosphere is completely amazing, unlike anything else I reckon, bands on the roofs of pubs, everyone cheering you on; awesome! Be warned though, entering will make you do a lot of this :D:D:D:D:D:D Apply normally through the ballot but also remember there are Golden Bond places too through charities - do both I say and then if you're lucky enough to get a ballot place you can give the GB one back to the charity so someone else can run. I've been lucky enough to get one place through the ballot (was too ill to use it though sadly) but I have friends who apply every year and have no luck. Missy, and anyone else who thinks they can't do it; trust me, you can! And it is SOOOOOO worth it! (no I don't work for the LM :D) Silly old me even imagined myself doing it too...well, a girl's gotta have dreams ;)

Sorry to the people struggling a little at the mo, it'll come in time so hang in there. Hope you feel a bit better soon BB xx

EDIT: what about a LW thread marathon team? :T:T As Suggs would say, I'll get me coat...:D

Well done on the ebaying BB! A few more like that and you'll be on your first £100 in no time! Don't worry about those few lbs, they will come off, and the wedding clothes are a great incentive. I'm the same, my wardrobe consists of size 8-10 and it just isn't an option to move up a size. Not willing to spend the money. End of :p

Bails perhaps I should have phrased it "WOULD NEVER do it :p " I actually do think I could if I put my mind to it but the desire isn't there for that particular event. I could see myself doing something like climbing Kili, riding a stage of the Tour de France, skiing or skating a marathon distance. Something that doesn't involve crowds of people and, well, running :D It's good to have dreams.

Hi guys. I am sorry I have been a bit absent recently. I am now on holiday (having suddenly gone 'off-plan' quite drastically for a few days before I left). Funnily enough, now that I am away, I have found it easier to get back to normal with my eating (I obviously needed a change to get out of the impending rut). Anyway, I won't be weighing in this week and perhaps not next week either but please can I stay on the chart.

I have (edit: almost) always lost weight on holiday since I started last January because I am away from the kitchen and not bored and this is usually my downfall.
