Smoky - very special mention to you. I can't begin to know what you are going through. I think I can speak for everyone here that our thoughts are so much with you, DH and your family.
Happy birthday to Master CC (again!) and also to Miss Llamma!
Well today got off to a bit of a ropey start. I started to hammer and chisel tiles off wall around kitchen sink. Bits by the draining board by window came off OK but I am having a problem with the ones that run from behind sink to hatch! Have left a message for tiler and maybe he can come before Thursday. I need to ask his advice regarding post kitchen units re tiling etc anyway.
On the up side I have totally defrosted fridge (awful) and freezer (not too bad). They have both been washed out inside and out and I managed to drag them up the hall and they are now in the dining area of my lounge/diner. I registered with my local Freecycle today too as hopefully someone might want my fridge. Won't post there until I am sure new fridge/freezer works OK! Freezer going in cupboard under stairs (once socket fitted) for all the yellow stickered stuff DH keeps getting for us!
In between I have managed to wash a load of towels plus DHs dressing gown (he is away until 20th March). Will need to keep up with rest of washing as machine will be out of action for a few days.
Hope you have had not too bad a Saturday. I have a bottle of red sitting amid the chaos for later!
Love and hugs to anyone poorly or just needing one.

Major big hugs to Smokybabe.
PP love that song by Randy Crawford, I've always loved 'Almaz'...

Had a lie-in and breakfast in bed from DH as we're at church in the morning for a special Mothering Sunday service, so there won't be time. DD1 was at orchestra and DD2 stayed in her pjs until midday.
DH has gone over to see his mum with her mother's day gifts, just hope she like them as she has a habit of saying the wrong thing.
My parent's are coming for tea tomorrow so we're having a hug leg of lamb which I must remember to defrost.
Today I've stripped the beds and washed all of the bedding and I even managed to get some of the washing on the line in the garden, although it's just started raining here.
I found a tin of Libby's Pumpkin which I bought in the USA about 2 years ago and I've made 2 pumpkin pies which are pretty tasty, but I'm not sure if the kids will eat them and I DH and I may end up eating most of them!
Tonight will be a quiet one in front of the tv, just how I like to spend my saturday evenings!:D
Have a good evening!0 -

Just checked the tv pages and there doesn't seem to be much on. I have bought the boys Ratatouille for Easter and might just have to check it is OK tonight!

Hello everyone,:hello:
Hugs hugs to Smokey, my thoughts and prayers are with you.
Happy birthday to Master CC and Miss Llama.
Am feeling very pleased with myself today,:j I made Twinks Hobnobs yesterday and have just made a traybake (slightly sunk in middle cause I took it out to soon but the icing covered it up!) Tomorrow I am making jaffa drizzle loaf (care of BBC good food website). Work will be impressed when I take it all in on Monday, leaving some at home for DS for the week.
Ironing piled has been halved, just the bedding to do. DS hoovered yesterday. Lasagne (homemade), chips and peas for dinner, just about to put oven on for that.
Phew worn out just thinking about it all, I think I deserve a glass of wine tonight in front of the tv!
Huge hugs to those in need. Have a super Saturday.

Hey, noticed yesterday you are in the same vicinity as me. (I am East Lothian). What was that weather like yesterday up here. If it wasn't for the wind today it would have been great! At least washing dried.

Hiya GB,
Yepyou are nearby - I am in Edinburgh itself. The wind has been very harsh and when it blows really hard it knowcks out our TV dish, so no tv for us when its windy!!!! Sucha beautiful sunny day today, but bitter once you are outside.
East Lothian is lovely - I hope to move out from the city in a few years.
Enjoy your glass or three of wine tonight!
Feeling very pleased with myself - Sammy-kaye has really inspried me to cut my shopping bill. On her thread everyone is raving about Twinks hobnobs so I have just made a very yummy batch - eating a few more with a cuppa as I type!!! It took me all of 1/2 hour and so i must do it more often.
I can't promise that all my replies will illicit this responser.mac, you are so wise and wonderful, that post was lovely and so insightful!

I used to live in Corstorphine before I got married many years ago.
Prices down here are crazy. DD and DSIL and family would love to 'come home' but can't afford it. They are in Dalgety Bay and have a really lovely house (ex Council but very roomy!). Not too big a journey.
I tend not to bake these days but I do know Twink's hobnobs (and yea well Aussie's anzacs) are high on the agenda.
Don't think I will make it to glass or three - really flagging and no glass yet!
