Os Daily 1st March 2008

Hi, this is the Daily Thread for 1st March 2008. This is an “over the garden fence” type thread where we chat about everything OS and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great, inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what we’re going to do today or what we’ve achieved already. Everyone’s welcome, please do come in, put your feet up (although check the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) and join us for an OS natter. The more the merrier!
When you make a post, if you feel like giving it a title, that will help others that don’t have the time to read everything skim through the thread quickly but if not it's not a problem, we’re a laid back bunch here so you won’t hear any complaints. Please do not start a new daily thread before you go to bed at night because this often leaves things confusing with two daily threads live at the same time. The idea is that a member would start each new daily thread after they get up in the morning
Some people who chat here like to try to answer everyone. Don’t feel you have to though, a general “hi everyone, hope everyone’s well” type start does just as well.
Pinch, Punch 1st of the Month. We should have the worst of the weather behind us now as to race towards Spring! (didn't I see snow on the forecast the other night
:rotfl: :rotfl: ).
Morning Everyone
((((hugs)))) and prayers Smokybabe sorry to see DH is still not responding well.
Up early as we are an hour ahead here, and I haven't finished packing yet and we have to be out of the door here by 10 am latest:eek: or else we will miss the 'plane;)
Its surprising what you accumulate over eight weeks, and what [STRIKE]a lazy so and so I am [/STRIKE]needs tidying away:o . Back with you later on today, but will be a dump bags and go straight off out again to a birthday bash. Our caravanning friends are collecting us from the airport and taking us home, and then feeding us later at their 'van:j  :j . The meet is only at Cliffe. Selby so we are just driving down for the evening, especially as DH is still taking the tablets (so is driving!).
We went out for a last night meal with our neighbours behind here, and were saying we didn't know where time was going to, and that the boredom of "retirement" everyone predicted is a load of old tosh (yes I was a workoholic), "Yes", they said "our DIL keeps asking if we are bored out here yet, and we just laugh."
((((hugs))))) to those not up to par, hope the meeting with OH goes well redruby, remember what is best for you and DD, not necessarily what is best for him!
Have a good Saturday. - DG

DONNY - safe journey to you and DH and have a great time at the birthday party! Unfortunately, the weather has been atrocious overnight; it's not so bad where I am, in Hampshire, but further up country it's been very wet and windy. It's not very Spanish, put it that way!
CHURCHMOUSE - :hello: :hello: :hello:
REDRUBY - good luck with your meeting with DH but put yourself and your DD first.
SMOKY - (((Hugs)))
Well, I'm up early again even though it's the weekend but I like this quiet early morning time when I can surf the net and not feel like I should be doing the housew**k! DH is snoring away which is a much better sound than the 'neglected martyr' sighing he's so good at when I'm occupied and he isn't!
Anyway, a funny sort of evening last night. We were both pretty tired and had an early bath and tried to watch a film we'd recorded, but both DH's brothers phoned (and they can all talk for England - worse than any women I know!) so that put the end to a quiet evening on the sofa. Mind you, when DH is occupied like that, he doesn't get the 'neglected martyr' sighing in the background from me! I've always got something to do!
Well, I'm going to have a look at the comp thread - after I've made another cuppa.
Hope everyone has a great day.

Morning. It's pretty windy down this way and not looking like a very nice day.
My office is all noisy as I have taken everything out and started painting it yesterday. The computer will be dismantled soon and the desk taken appart then I can finish painting and lay a new carpet. Should be fine and dandy on Monday.
Cannot believe how much junk was in here though.
Had a nice night out at some friends. They cooked duck breast in parma ham with black cherry sauce.... very delicious. Drank too much wine which I why I did not sleep so well...
Well must get a move on with the decorating.
Cheers folksNO to pasty tax We won!!!! Just shows that people power works! Don't be apathetic to your cause!0 -

Morning all,
up bright & early and actually got some sleep last night (after trying to ignore the shed door crashing around in the gale force winds....).
Put a pic of my lovely new kitchen on the "where the OS magic happens" thread last night too!
(((((hugs))))) for those needing them.
Scuzz, well done on the 2nd interview- but go with your gut instincts as well
Seem to be surrounded by people splitting up from their partners here (little sis, cousin) - so for those in similar situations - do what is right for you & your children. You will be fine (I'm still here 6 years later and doing better than I ever have). It may be tough for a while, but you know where the support is
So this weekend to be spent writing the essay - let's hope the brain will cooperate - and good luck to those others doing the same!
Have a good day everyone.

Morning everyone,
We had to go down to the Gold Coast today. Bought a little second hand car. Just got back & I'm well and truly stuffed
up with this cold. Tomorrow I will be better.
I have no idea what's for tea but DH will in charge of that.
I'd say eggs & beans on toast.
Smoky Sorry to hear it's not going really well. I hope he improves this week. <hugs>

Catz The dishcloth I'm using sprouted a hole. It must have been where I joined another ball into it. All I could think was I'm glad it wasn't a gift.
StudentGirl Thanks, I could do with a big hug today.
Hope you all have a great Saturday. Did Twink survive the bridge walk?
Byeeeeeeeeee Don't worry about the world coming to an end today. It's already tomorrow in Australia.

Hi all! Just spent a few minutes trawling round the garden picking up the wheely bins and the new compost bin which had flown up the garden in the wind  . Bright and breezy here now though. Good drying weather, I shall have to inspect the laundry basket in a mo to see if there's anything that needs doing (Ha Ha, as if there wouldn't be!).
I've done the ironing this morning as I woke early so am feeling smug - everyone else is still snoring away. Thought I'd nip on here while they're asleep as once OH is up he will have to dominate the world in his silly games again
I've learned my music, I think, and have ironed my choir skirt so all I have to do now is dig out my special choir folder and sort out all my music into that, then I'm ready for rehearsals later and then the concert. It's a memorial concert for the friend who died late last year; she was a member of our choir and often conducted us when we went abroad.
Smokey - special hugs and thoughts for you.
Hugs to everyone else who needs them.
Have a good Saturday everyone

A poke in the eye for being so sly
Well after my all-you-can-eat chinese I am about five pounds heavier and £45 lighter  - great fun though - suffering a bit this morning though. DD having a half mummy and half daddy weekend. He was meant to stay over last night so they could get an early start but seems to have snuck out in the night so we don't have a clue where he is.
So much clearing up to do - i'd better get a wiggle on hadn't I - have a good dayI'm going to feed our children non-organic food and with the money saved take them to the zoo - half man half biscuit 20080
