PP, they are disgusting for the money, I know you only paid £5 for them but even so, complain to Additions and e-mail a photograph.

I would want a refund and a free bouquet as a gesture of goodwill.

Lets us know how you get on.

    Penny-Pincher,

I would definitely complain about those flowers and expect a refund at the very least.

Rather than throw the ones you've got out, try passing a pin through the stem just below each flower to make a small hole, put them into fresh water and leave for about 12 hours. I can't remember where I learned this tip but I've often done it to revive sad looking tulips, and it does work. :)

    Afternoon all

PP - Those flowers are really terrible - good job you didn't have them delivered direct to the "mum" concerned.

Catowen - Hope you're feeling more amused now your 2 have come home, one of mine came in got changed and has now gone to a friends across the road to do homework, the other one missed her bus and just phoned in tears as it's tipping down with rain and freezing and she's got to wait half an hour......best of all.....she refused to take her coat this morning........sometimes mummy really does know best (just how sympathetic am I!!)

Went to Mr T's this morning, they had jars of silverskin pickled onions reduced to 10p each, bb date of Nov 09. I got 10 jars! We loved pickes in this house so shall happily munch through them. Came in under budget at £43.17 too - they had loads of fresh fruit and veg at half price today - makes a change from the junk that's normally reduced.

Dough in the BM for pizzas later, need to make a chilli up tonight too so that it can mature over night - got a friend coming for dinner tomorrow as his wife's away - saves him cooking.

Hope you all have a great weekend.

Please don't laugh, but I left the pins in - that probably explains why it didn't work :o

TATTYCATH - thinking about you and your DDs. (((Hugs))) to you all.

REDRUBY - I've had that happen to me; nowadays the police will get involved if it carries on. It does spook you out, doesn't it? I'm glad you have other people on hand if you need them.

PENPIN - those flowers looked so sad. I'd definitely complain no matter how much they cost.

Well, having had to spend most of the morning chasing up suppliers for prices for a job DH is quoting for (quote had to be faxed today) I've only just got back from food shopping. The weather is horrible - spitting with rain and blowing so hard, when I walked round a corner into the wind, it pushed me back against a wall. I looked around frantically for Colin Firth to come and rescue me but he didn't! Anyway, I'm glad to be back at home. I've just eaten a Creme Egg with my cuppa. Well, they are selling them at 3 for £1 so I bought one each for DH and I to have tonight and I just didn't know what to do with the other one!! It looked so lonely sat there! Went down a treat with a cup of PG!

We're having spag bol for dinner and the Creme Eggs for pudding which I know is not very healthy or OS but we've eaten well for the week and it is Friday, after all!

Well, I think I'll have time for an hour's knitting before DH comes home so I will see you all later.

    Hi Everyone

Home early this afternoon as colleague and I were worried that gale force winds would bring down more of the builders' fencing at work (we are part of a building site just now!) However, it looks like we chose the height of the storm and both of us were thoroughly drenched racing round the building to our cars. My clothes are quietly steaming away as I type this!

Happy birthday to Master CC. Emma - hope you are OK.

PenPin - well, what can I say about those flowers. How sad are they - compo definitely should be demanded!!!!

Pink - great tip about the tulips - I am sure I saw or read a similar tip for Gerberas. I always find they droop too.

Smoky and JackieO - thoughts with both of you.

Scuzz - hope interview goes OK. Any doubts then take time to think it through.

RedR, Tatty, PenPen - hugs to you and yours.

Edit: Aussie, hope you are feeling better and have had a lovely Ninny Day. Depending on how long my renovations go on will depend when next the boys stay over.

Love and hugs to anyone else needing them.

Council took all the rubbish away this morning but I must admit I was a bit worried that my kitchen vinyl was blowing all around the village causing havoc in the wind. Tomorrow's task is to chisel off the tiles and defrost fridge and freezer. Will then move them into the lounge whilst still empty. Have run the fridge down pretty much as I will be off to DDs on Thursday morning, returning on Saturday. Just need to make sure I leave milk and choccie biscuits for the fitters.

    Hope to pop back later.

I swear I'm gonna
My eldest DD asked me to go into her school to pick up her report and option forms (her report is absolutely brilliant!!!:T )
Just before I left the house my other DD came home really upset and said (without me asking her anything) that everyone one is saying she was the one who caused trouble and they've all had a go at her!!! So I was livid by this point and asked her if she had told the teacher at any point that she started it and she said no definitely not. Then my DDs friend showed me her phone, this little !!!!! who is the bully had sent her a message saying to keep out of it and that she was going to sort my DD out good and proper kind of thing!!! So I went to school to pick up report for older DD and called into younger DDs school (sort of on impulse).
I asked to speak to the head-in a meeting, the [STRIKE]silly !!!!! I spokje to on the phone this am[/STRIKE]lady i spoke to this morning-not available, but another person who was a year tutor/head of house, would speak with me. After hyperventilating and having to calm my self down I calmly explained the problem, and explained the text message I had read for myself, and various other relevant stuff and that this other teacher had said they had been spoken with and that should be that. This teacher was very good made extensive notes-probably daren't ignore me coz I was so wound up!!! and said he would definitely sort it out and would phone me next week. I also complained tthat I found it hard to believe that 3 different messages would go astray (as the teachers I spoke withthis am said they had received no messages from me at all!!!!!). So I left school thinking something might be done finally and that the chat the other teacher is supposed to have had with the kids obviously hadn't worked.
When I got home I knew why it hadn't worked.... Despite the teacher I spoke with this morning telling me she had spoken with the children and that it would not happen again... she failed to tell me that she had not spoken to the bully in question coz she wasn't even in today so my DD informed me when I got home from talking to her other teacher this afternoon!!!!!
It's a good job I didn't speak to that woman coz I think I would have ripped her head off!!!!!!!!!
Sorry everyone. just needed to vent. rant over. Thanks
