Morning all.....................(((((((((((((((HUGS))))))))))))) to those who need one.

I am up after just over 4 hours sleep. I told OH I had a bad night and he informed me that when he woke at 2.30am I was sleeping peacefully!!!!! How come then I was posting on the computer, either he was dreaming or he had someone else in the bed!!!!!! do not think it was the latter......:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

I got up just after 9.30 and am about to go in to do some sewing, have a table centre I want to finish, need to sort out some bits to do a couple of autumn and summer table runners, then tackle some more birthday/christmas card embroidery. I need to get the card blanks and clear envelopes for the Christmas cards before I can price them up. I usually charge £2.00 for a large card.............so would do 4 small ones for £2 in a pack, the bigger ones would cost more.

Have started backing all the stuff on my old lap top onto discs, have transferred some of it onto this one, afraid just at the moment cannot afford to get an external hard drive. I agree with DG, I think at some point all we will have is USB connections, you no longer have a floppy drive........one of the programmes I am running still asks for a back up on floppy...............MS Money, I got it in 2004 and it works fine for me, so why should I buy the latest copy I probably will not be able to understand anyway!!!!!!!!!!!

Drinking a coffee and then I am off into sewing mode.......................

Hope that smokey is ok, not heard anything from her for a couple of days...................

Good luck to anyone who does the lady proposing today, hope they say yes.....................

  • Morning everyone,

Day off today as the school has an Inset Day, will go and get showered in a mo, had a lovely lie in, DS is trained not to bug me til 9! :j

Have to go to the bank today and draw out my monthly allowance (I work out how much I get by dividing what's left of my wages after all bills are paid by weekends in the month) and then hide it! and pay myself on a Friday! I find it easier than using bank cards and constantly trying to work out how much I have left!

DS stressing with the main computer at the mo, its very slow (the lappy is not much quicker but its wireless and MINE)!:rotfl:

Hugs to those in need, Smokey hope your DH has improved.
Scuzz good luck with the interview.
For those planning to propose today - hope you get the answer you want!
Having never been married and now 36 yrs old not sure if I would want to - like my own space too much!!!
For all those with hospital appts - fingers crossed xx

For anyone else, have a fabulous Friday.

    Morning everyone,
my working day is now almost a third through so thats a big plus :D

I slept really bedly last night and must have only had around 3 hours before the alarm went off at 4am, it was a real chore dragging myself out of bed and into the shower.
Looking forward to getting home and having an hours nap then i should feel better.
DH is only working a short shift today so i should get to see him later for an hour or so before i go to bed.
Meal planning and shopping lists are planned tasks for later so hopefully i`ll manage to get them done.
    Have a good Friday everyone.

Planning on starting the GC again soon :p
  • Hello everyone. Horrible day up here in not so sunny Scotland. Dog and DD are both bored and up to mischief. DD was advancing on the dog with a role of duck tape earlier, managed to intervene in time. Thankfully we have a very tolerant dog, she's a Jack Russel and I know they don't have the best reputation with children but she is brilliant.
Trying to organise my cupboards as I've come the the conclusion that a tidy house maybe starts with tidy cupboards? I hate that sort of thing tho.....it's mindnumbing, not sure I'll ever have a very tidy house tho, don't think I have the knack for it. Keep meaning to follow the flylady thread but not got round to it yet.
Thinking of you Smokey, hope you get some good news today.
    Have a great day everyone.

    :hello: Hello

Just popping on quickly as we are off into town this morning when oh gets back from walking Penny (his day off so his turn!:D ) Hopefully she won't be too muddy!
OH has promised me brunch :j as I have work later so one less meal to worry about. Hoping I can twist his arm and explore a couple of charity shops (looking for dishcloth yarn) while we are there;)

Tattycath - I am keeping my fingers crossed for you and dd and also for your nephew, life is a bit of a roller coaster ride for you atm isn't it? ((((hugs)))) remember we are all here for you.

(((hugs))) to JackieO, Penny pincher, Smokey, Jayward and all that could use one.

:hello: Hi to the Husseys! You know who you are! :D

Catowen - that hot choc with the marshmallows and cream sounds delish! Enjoy your day off!

Right off to find my shopping bags, better not pack too many or OH will panic!:rotfl:

    Good morning!:hello:

    Happy birthday Master Crazychik!

Scuzz - hope the interview goes well, but it had better be a wonderful job for £100 pw on petrol! Maybe the ideal job will come up a bit nearer to home, but as Essex-girl said, go by your gut feeling. Seems a shame to have a new flat you'd hardly have any time to enjoy, but if you're offered the job and think it sounds good, you could always take it and look out for one nearer home later. Sorry, you're probably totally confused now!

    SmokyBabe - thinking of you.

Penny_Pincher - glad you slept well!

Penelope Penguin - "The Happy Hooker" - I remember all the fuss when that came out! I'm probably the right age to appreciate it now. ;)

Ageandjo - good luck if you do decide to pop the question!

I think today will be mostly spent trying to get some rest after going to Bluewater yesterday with DD2. When I go with my DH we usually stop for a sit-down at least 3 or 4 times in the length of time we were there yesterday (iyswim) but that's not practical with a very energetic 18mo and a baby who always needs feeding just when it's least convenient  :D DGS loves pressing the button to call the lift, and got very upset as he couldn't understand why we couldn't spend half an hour going up and down in it -after all, why wouldn't we want to keep doing something that's so much fun! DD2 was trying to clean her kitchen this morning but had to give up after he shut his fingers in the WM door  not too badly thank goodness! I've suggested getting him a toy dustpan and brush, which she thinks is a good idea - the tricky bit will probably be finding one that's not pink and isn't called something like "Little Housewife" :D

Have got a load of towels in the WM and am trying to use up the washing liquid asap because I realised yesterday that after I'd up-ended the old bottle to let the last of it drain into the new one (by leaving the old one upside down in the top of the new one) I accidentally threw away both lids (it was one of those days, lol) and I'm worried the liquid will "go off" if it's left too long with the bottle open.

Not sure yet what tonight's dinner will be, will go and rummage in the freezer shortly and see what delights I can find :D Perhaps one of Nelski's favourites, "Freezer Surprise":rotfl:

Right, time to get dressed and have breakfast and another :coffee:

    Have a good day

Oooooh, Ivyleaf  Not that Happy Hooker (which I read as a teenager ;) ) but this one :D :T

Speaking of backing up, my last laptop failed due to the screen packing in. For about £10, my friendly computer shop took out the HD and put it into a snazzy case, and it now acts as an external HD that I use to bakc up onto.

Right, I've decided. I shall go to the interview and make a decision whilst there as to whether or not I like it and want to work there.

At the end of the day, if they offer it to me, I don't have to take it. Going to follow the advice of writing out a pro and con list for here and the other place.

Last time I had this feeling about a job, I was offered it and turned it down. Two weeks later I was offered a fantastic job which I loved. So I'm hoping history will repeat itself!

Thank you for all your advice
