Prepaymania does not have company permission to post om MSE, please do not email him any personal information.
  • After reading the good reviews I bought a cheap mobile from Prepaymania for my wife's hospital visit. I paid an upfront credit to them/Orange. The phone arrived swiftly enough, but there was no credit - and Orange confirmed none had been applied. By all means buy your phone from them (their Nokia 16126 is both good and very cheap), but be careful of the upfront credit - consider buying that directly.

I purchased a "Nokia 6310i Grade A Unlocked Sim Free Mobile Phone" for my dad - he really likes this particular phone.

He was still using his current one, so he didn't open the box
immediately. When he did a few weeks later, he found that the phone was not an original. The only original part was the battery.

When I emailed Prepaymania explaining everything. I got a short email stating that the return period had expired and that their was no guarantee that the mobile would be an original.

They advertise the phone as a NOKIA, I choose to buy it as that, but
in fact its a FAKE. I wrote to them again with feedback and they have not responded.

Not only have they sold me a fake phone, the service, the email was just awful.

I will not use Prepaymania again - awful honestly.

I'd report them to trading standards and to http://www.direct.gov.uk/en/Governmentcitizensandrights/Consumerrights/Yourconsumerrightswhenbuyinggoodsandservices/DG_194549

Very few (if any) retailers openly admit selling counterfeit goods.
  • I too have purchased from PrePayMania & was pleasently surprised by their quick service & uptodate comunication however, the phone has now developed a fault & it has been like getting blood from a stone....

Once i had contacted them to inform them that the phone has developed a fault within the first 6 months of owning the phone. They suggested I take it to CPW for a warranty repair!
60% of the time, it works every time

There seems to be a lot of conflicting posts on this thread about the quality of service and products supplied by Prepaymania based in Stoke on Trent near Trentham Gardens. My recent research into buying a Nokia C7 from them has resulted in several different prices for a Sim Free version over three days of searching the net (£235.25, £237.10, £241.24 and currently £229.18). My question is, has anyone any recent experience of this company good or bad and are they to be trusted as a reliable internet trader?

    I've just bought from PrePayMania.
I have to say their service was 1st class.

I started having doubts when i read comments on this site just after placing my order. So, checked them out best i could - companies house, web comments etc.
Placed my order on a Sunday, had the phone courier delivered (foc) Thursday. This was last week and probably their busiest.
Now, when i spoke to prepay they told me the phonewould be with me on Wednesday. It didn't arrive so rang them on the Thursday morning. A very helpful girl said she would check the UPS tracking number etc - should have been delivered wednesday but UPS let them down. This was confirmed by UPS.

Oh, and my phone was delivered with all seals intact.
From my own experience, they provided me a 1st class service, UPS a little less so.

After reading this thread I want to have a go/ I have seen they sell vodafone-455 for £17.50

    http://www.prepaymania.co.uk/mobilephone/vodafone-455-mobile-phone-vodafone-pay-as-you-go.html

    My question is:
Is the phone bought from this company locked to any particular network or unlocked ?

    Thanks
