Keep trying the Dogs Trust. They have a no destruction policy. You can hand your dog over to them with the piece of mind that he will be safe and looked after, he isn't going to be put down and he is going to be responsibly rehomed to suitable people.
Just keep phoning them and explain your circumstances.0 -

I feel hurt that some people may be judging me for taking on this rental, but they are not living the life I have had too, and I couldnt keep the dog in the flat with 6 of us for much longer either. If I won the lottery I would not be as happy as I would be if I could keep my dog. When I die I will know that I have lived, loved, mattered and made a difference, even if in a small way.0 -

Ignore them - the only one who knows the best decision in your circumstances is you, and it sounds like you're doing the best you can for Duke in a bad situation. None of us know what's round the corner - it would break my heart to have to rehome my dog, but I can think of situations where I wouldn't have any choice, and it would be better for her as well. Hope you manage to get him sorted in a happy home. All shall be well, and all shall be well, and all manner of things shall be well.
Pedant alert - it's could have, not could of.0 -
i have been reading your other thread mooloo and i apologise if i have offended you.
i originally thought that your children had come home bringing their babies with them. when i read more i heard the true story and i understand your difficulties. i hope things improve all round.0 -

But Duke needs a loving home and at the moment I am unable to have him, so I am looking for one. I didnt just abandon him. I promise. When I die I will know that I have lived, loved, mattered and made a difference, even if in a small way.0 -

Thats Ok. apologies accepted. I am just a bit tetchy I suppose as I really dont want to loose Duke and its making me heart broken to loose him. I hang on for each day longer that he is with my BF, but know that its not fair on Duke he needs a home for life. When I die I will know that I have lived, loved, mattered and made a difference, even if in a small way.0 -
its true mooloo and i understand your distress but you have a lot on your plate at the moment and a dog is such a comfort at these times.
i understand that you would do anything for your children and grandchildren but dont forget your own needs and wants.

I have had a possible offer of help today, I will be investigating and see whats happening. obviously if I could keep him, I really would. I have sacrificed a lot for my family, but anyone would do it, and i have gained two beautiful grandchildren, who when they smile to me, it makes a big difference. When I die I will know that I have lived, loved, mattered and made a difference, even if in a small way.0 -
I think you are doing a great job Mooloo - you are obviously a very caring person and is looking for the best option for their beloved dog.
Good luck with the new possibility
