Seriously? The best I've come up with is 'don't buy them anything!'. I'm going to buy my OH's after Easter, and because they'll be cheaper he'll get two! If your nearest and dearest have senses of humour you could do that with them; say that your new DFW ways have turned you into a bit of a skinflint, so you'd rather get value for money after Easter!!!!
You could do a bit of a naughty easter egg hunt for your OH? A few wisely placed clues, a trail of mini galaxy eggs, all leading to the love of his life; I'm not going to say anymore, this is an open forum!!!LBM: 14.01.08 - Debt at 25.04.08: £7420.925.06.10: 3200.00 :T I'm over half way there!!! :j

Hummmm tricky. Normally I would buy them easter Monday but I'm going to dinner on Sunday lunchtime!!! Gah. Oh well. I'll just buy really small ones. I've had to admit defeat and realised I'll have to put petrol on my cc card and pay it off next month. Nightmare. My car drink petrol - even more when my OH drives it!!!0

I bought some eggs in Tesco last nite - they are 95p (or 99P) or four for £5.00, but three of those fits the budget doesn't it? They are not a bad size either just the normal sort of size egg with two choc bars of whatever it is - flake is prob a good choice for girlies. Failing that (if still outside the budget) how about a creme egg (but bearing in mind they are about 50p I think the big eggs are better value) and you might feel a little bit silly handing out 3 creme eggs?
By the way CS, I think you got a good deal on the Lindt bunnies - they are soooo expensive - even the tiny ones!! xx0 -
Thanks Lu. I'm off work today so I should really make the effort to get dressed and perhaps go and investigate!0

hey... been reading the thread and realised that I am not the only girl in the world unable to stop herself buying random junk she doesn't need!!!! I recently moved house and three away THREE bags of creams, make up etc that I bought and never used and had gone funny!! So can I join this thread as I am trying not to spend madly!!! I get some kind of wierd panic when I have nearly no moeny left and find things I absolutely need (Caffeine roll on for under eye bags and dark circles??? Doesn't even work properly lol!)....
I blame mine on going shopping with the girls from work... so into habit of just impulse buying now! I have about three wks tils payday and if my expnses clear £150 left... sounds a lot but I spend about £40 on petrol a week (claim it back but it always disappears!)
Any tips on how to stop that panic? am avoiding shops (but still manage to go buy choc and stuff in the local post office... pink pen? only justification was that about 40p went to Breast Cancer charity!!)Total Debt March 2008 - £9232.19  Virgin loans £5188.80, Halifax OD £2,456.94, Barclaycard £699.60, Virgin Credit card £532.25, Capitalone £354.60 (no idea as they refuse to send me statements now! updating figures as I get them!) :hello: Welcome, number 45!
What works for me is knowing that I'll have to come on here and 'fess up! I have a bit of a reputation for telling people off for spending on here, so if I do it it's the ultimate hypocracy - it's working for me though!
I think a few of us have started to get a but possessive over our hard cash; we leave our plastic at home, so we only have cash in our purses. You find that you become loathed to part with hard cash - much more satisfying to see it sat in your purse instead!!
Oh, and definitely stop believing what you hear - it's just an evil marketting ploy to part you from your hard-earned cash!
Don't know if that helps!
How's the DMP? I recognised your name from my second home, the DMP Mutual Support Thread!
tmd - apologies for the shoddy easter egg suggestions! I normally cop-out and plead poverty, that's why I haven't got any great ideas!!

I think less wine and more water might help! Haven't put that into practice tho!:D0
