Nope, definitely not the only one, I think it is safe to say that we are all a wee bit on the carp side ;)

  • Guess that's why we're on this thread. Is it worth trying to stop, or should we just give in and share what we've bought - in a weird spendorexic way?:D:D:D
Wooaaaaahh there Little Chicken I'm thinking I might be needing to get my whip out of retirement again!! It is definitely, definitely worth trying to stop!! This thread has been a life line for me, if it wasn't for the fact that I could come on here and declare "I've done no compulsive spending today", I'd be in a right mess!
Methinks I am away too much, and there are definitely not enough tellings-off happening! :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:
But seriously, you all know why I started this thread; I needed to know I wasn't alone, and to hopefully encourage all you spenders out of the closet! I think it's amazing that so many of us are here and supporting each other, I wouldn't be without you guys!

    Hi there

Can I join please??!! Reading your posts I think I am very at home on this thread. The serious money saving people are very strict and they scare me! I really want to try and reduce my debt but got laughed at by saying i needed (wanted?) £300 for "ME"! Well me and OH and DS actually, but still, pretty much got laughed off the site! But seriously that is me making an effort to "budget!" And I thought this was quite reasonable, becuase yes, you guessed it - I like spending money - on anything! I think it was on this thread i read about someone who was cross with themselves for buying a dish drainer (or similar) - that's me!! Like another poster tho, I am managing to slowly train myself out of buying more clothes/shoes/hangbags than one person really needs (but i deserve a treat every now and then right? :D )

Anyway me trying hard is clearly not trying anywhere near hard enough, so have now agreed to reduce this £300 to £50  as think will shortly be on DMP. Will need lots of support as this is going to be V TOUGH! But think of all the money i will have for shoes when i am debt free :)

Yeah CS - you've been away too much and we're missing you;)

me 'n' sohurt and a couple of others have lost it - I spent £400 online this morning. Am feeling really pooooos about it:mad: Sohurt's spending to mend her broken heart and i'm spending to cheer myself up as I'm finding it difficult to find a new job.

To top it all off I have PMT shopping syndrome. grrrrrr. :o

Oh - well, onwards and upwards, at least the ebay challenge is making me some money. :T

Back on the wagon for me now.:A

Hope you're all in a better place than me.:p

Aww Little Chicken. Firstly I'd like to know how you'd got £400 spare at this time in the month?!?!?!?!
Spending to heal; that's a very recognisable trait (I know, I've done it). Don't cut yourself up about it, but please DON'T GIVE UP!! What was your March challenge? How are you doing on that? Small steps LC, that's what it's going to take. :grouphug:

    Thanks!

I am going to try really hard at this money saving stuff but i just know i am going to slip up from time to time (or even on a fairly regular basis!) but then who knows, maybe I will even surprise myself!

But first.... I want to have a little shift around at home, which will involve one or two new "small" new purchases - two new "funky" chairs and a lamp to be precise - but they will of course be my last big spend for a while......;) Sound familiar? :D

Did anyone see that Supersize V Superskinny - maybe the hypnotherapy would work with shopping?!! Want to have that for the weightloss, but then if i drop to a size 10 would have to buy a whole new warbrobe... x
