I have been so terrible :( Got loads on at the minute and going shopping to take my mind off it!

Aside from the £300 and £500 camera shoes last week, I have since bought:

Two more pairs of shoes from Aldo - £140
Pair of shoes from Zara - £45
Top from New Look - £20
Jeans from New Look - £20
    A Versace lipgloss - £20
Versace make up set - £30
    A mug (??!) - £10
    Sunglasses - £13
    Spend in Boots - £14
Perfume (although was for my mum!) - £35

    That's shocking :(
  • I have had a crisis.,

    30 quid on Amazon
66 quid WEEKLY shop (for one person!!!!!!!!!!!)
    29.50 in M and S just cos.

(it may not look like much but I am meant to have a budget of 200 pounds a month...not to mention I only manged 10 freaking days without Amazon - and for heavens sake I bought the flumps on DVD curse the advert auto trader)
am very unhappy, thats all I can put it down to.

plus I will have to sort out my house a bit this weekend and replace the house plants I have killed whilst Mum has been on holidays.

I did do some paying off tonight tho. and should be ok this month so long as I don't have to spend anything for oh the next three weeks!
    Nevertheless she persisted.
  • Sohurt, did you find you just completely forgot about this thread and the whole money saving thing, cos I just went blank in sainsburys buying all kinds of nonsense, and the Amazon order was half ridiculous and half useful. M and S was just oooooooo I fancy that and that and that. money saving what money saving!!!!!1

lol, totally! I cannot go NEAR a Tesco etc, as I just go in for one thing and end up spending £30 on rubbish!

And don't get me started on M and S, I end up buying stuff like pomegranate seeds for £1.99 and fruit salads for £5 quid!

I'm a shambles! Although to be fair, my shopping sprees probably make other people feel better about theirs! lol

the worst thing about m and s is that you think - or I do two for the price of 1 or two for 5 pounds is a good deal, when if you were in sainsburys you would be saying that is ridiculous,

I did buy some nice biscuits....

BtW you aren't a shambles, you have spent less since joining here I am sure, you had a blimp and you know it. and you will work hard not to do it again.

I went and pre paid my cc - to cover the mad two days of spending. it should work as a reminder not to go and buy dark chocolate ginger biscuits and new underwear when I have no one to show it to :o

I also try and think about it in terms of my debt free date? like whether its a month nearer or further away?

    take care

lol, see that's the frame of mind I need to get into - I'm more the type of girl that works on the 'cost per wear' frame of mind. I.e, if I buy a jacket for £200 it's ok, because I will wear it x amount of times which makes it cheaper! lol (insert rolling eyes smilie here!) My other thread is hanging around somewhere detailing everything that is going on with me so shopping is just an escape really! :( xxx

and p.s you are sooo right about the two for £5 thing lol, end up 'saving', like 34p!! lol
  • I know exactly where you both are coming from. I am always buying things that are on offer (I could restock Boots and Tescos I think :p ) and I totally forget about money saving when I am shopping :o . I do not go on Amazon or Play (cheaper as no postage!!) anymore as I will be buying books and DVD's that I really don't need. I have stayed well away from Amazon since I read on here something about shoes, i mean how many pairs do i actually need? I only ever wear a couple of pairs

My weekly shopping reguarly creeps up to £60 and I too am only shopping for one person, the other day I came home with a Hairdryer I didn't really need!! Why do Tesco sell stuff other than food? I blame them! I am now ordering my food on line monthly so I am not tempted by things I don't need I am hoping this will save me money, I will let you know!!

I too buy lots of underwear that no one ever sees (including me as it still in the draw with the tags on just in case!! :D ) La Senza though is my weakness, I can't walk past :p

Any way thats enough of me running on.

I have been fairly good this week. I had a NSD on Saturday, Sunday and Monday, I went to my Dance Class last night which is the only money I spent all day and today I put petrol in my car and spent a £1 on choclate I did not need :o . I am suppossed to be at a dance class tonight but I haven't gone so have saved a fiver there :D

Going out at the week end for the first time in 3 months so weekend is not looking too good

Enjoy the rest of your week

  • :eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek: What can I say???

We're not very good at not spending are we;)

Guess that's why we're on this thread. Is it worth trying to stop, or should we just give in and share what we've bought - in a weird spendorexic way?:D:D:D

  • Just been catching up with this thread and I think u are all brilliant! This thread is so entertaining :T :T
Reading through the posts, I could easily be anyone of you! Especailly the 'I've got a little spare money, what shall I buy' theory...

I wouldn't say I am a 100% shopaholic, I have managed to train myself a little, but still have slip ups :o For example, QVC had a Liz Earle TSV earlier this week, and I bought one, knowing full well that MiL had also ordered me one for my birthday:o  :o ..... I can send it back, but I am addicted to Liz Earle atm and I'm not sure I will have the will power....
I have trained myself away from shoes/clothes I'll never wear and impractical but beautiful (and expensive) handbags, just my LE addiction to deal with now!

Good luck everyone, and keep up the good work! I'll be watching with interest

  • I was just sitting here congratulating myself on how well I am doing (if you ignore the going out on the lash and eating out and going to a swanky 5* hotel last weekend - it was a bargain, I promise, family member works there so I got a HUGE discount) but then I remembered that for no real reason I spent £26.50 on a gift (body cream) for my SIL because she is pregnant and had been a bit unwell - but we have a 'no buy' agreement on gifts and have had for years.

Then I realised that perhaps my going out (although no worse than my pre DFW days) was my new bags, shoes, clothes and make-up.

Ahem - a bit of reality in my corner wouldn't go amis now would it? I am doing OK on clearing my debts but...
