  • Hello all,

Well my bag arrived yesterday. I haven't taken the tags or anything off. Still just looking at it. I really want it because its so lovely but I need to send it back because it was LOADS of money!

I'm having such a crap week with lots of other stuff going on that on this handbag rests my sanity.

Does that make sense?! Probably not.

Got to say this thread is great! Saturday was a bit of a revalation for me as far as my spendaholic status is concerned! Have been feeling low anyway since splitting up with my OH in Dec last year - He had 2 youngest kids at the weekend so house unusually quiet. I took the cat to the vet and she had to be put down (didn't come as a surprise as should have done it for a while but couldn't cope with it!) Afterwards all I wanted to do was go shopping!!!!! Didn't need or want anything but felt a need to spend money on anything to make myself feel better (in the past I might have settled for a bar of chocolate but as appetite has gone and stomach bad due to stress, food doesn't work as a comfort anymore!) and when I have the younger kids I avoid shopping like the plague cos it's such hard work!
Ended up going home and staying in bed all afternoon feeling s***!!!!!
I suddenly realised that the reson I am in debt is cos I spend to make myself feel better!!!!!!

Poor you Judi re the cat. i had a similar thing a while ago and it is distressing at the time, the only comfort (if it is even a comfort) is that it hurts like hell at the time, but for some reason it doesn't hurt for too long. Certainly that was my experience. I think you know they were suffering so you accept it quicker.

Well done on unlocking part of your reasons for spending though!! I wish i could have some of that clarity!!

It does make sense - I've currently got a handbag in my basket online - but I'm going to resist as it's way spendy:rolleyes: and i don't have a job at the mo.

I have a couple of things to return to the shop this week - I REALLY like them too, but know I can't afford them:eek: I know I won't miss them once they're returned tho.:o

Let us know what happens - hope your week improves!:D :D:D

    good evening roomies!!

    member number 8 checking in.

well am on nights this week so no spending for me. although did buy 2 tickets for the theatre as cats is coming to my town for just 3 weeks in april - unfortuently all cheap seats had gone so it cost me £64 for 2 but it will be worth it - will combine it with a meal for me and OH using vouchers so should bring cost down.

Maz - will be using it to pay £1700 of CC and £1000 to finally pay back OH from 2 years ago when he bailed me out of a tricky situation before we lived together and had only been together a couple of months - he was suprised as he didnt expect it back as it was a gift but deep down I know that its the right thing to do. (also hoping he will use it towards an engagement ring - a girl can dream!!)

to everyone else - keep up the good work, you are all working so hard and it is an inspiration to read the highs and lows of how you are getting on.

remember - smile and the whole world smiles with you! :A

Hi peeps - dropped in for a massive confessional
Decided to have abit of a home revamp and have spent far too much and this is just what springs to mind -
    clothes for kids - £60
    new mattress - £300
    new carpet - £200
    cushions/curtains/rug/various misc redecoraing items - £400
dinners out whilst redecorating cos house was in disarray - £130

Thats scary scary stuff. Oh, I also locked myself out and had to get a locksmith to the tune of £70. Kicking myself big time for that!

On the brightside - we're sprucing up as we were going to move to a bigger house, saddling ourselves with a much bigger mortgage and forking out for loads of fees etc plus also prob redecorating - but we've decided to stay put and have a clear out and a revamp to make us 'fall back in love' with our likkle house. So probsaved heaps of money in the long run!!

  • Right I haven't bought anything from Amazon, (i know its only been five days but its been a !!!! week) I haven't been shopping except for the paper I have been marking all week, so not had time to spend money on anything nice. Unfortunately I think my lack of spending won't notice this week though cos of the marking I getting a cab to work - 8 pounds a day..........

I have a pile of un opened DVD's to watch before I can buy another DVD, also I can't buy DVD's or magazines for the whole of March.

I spend money to feel better, although mostly I eat to feel better!!! I am trying very hard to handle stress better at work.

Any how got to prep for parents evening, and should sort out Avon order. ugh.

    see you all later people
    and happy no spending!

    xxxxxxx
    Nevertheless she persisted.
