Hi, I am a Mum of two little ones, (2 an a bit and 4) I think I am being pushed here to join your club, (if you will have me) but I don't think I really should be asking because I think I am fine. Everyone who knows me says I am a hoarder but I need this stuff. I collect, (stuff) when I see it cheap because it saves me in the long run.:D
Example: I will spend, (save for a few months before) £50 in Wilkinsons on their 50% off sale on Christmas Eve to buy birthday prezzies for children that may invite my children to their b-day parties.:j
Most of the stuff I buy is meant to be for prezzies but it does just end up being given away as Thank You's etc.
Question: Should I ask to join your club?
I think I should be in your club because you would make me think about what I am buying.
Do I have a problem of which I do not know? Maybe I have answered my own question...
Can I join your Club please.:D
I think being a member of this community will help me to see I do need to wake up an smell the, (pounds goin thru my purse) coffee.
Whoo Hoo ..I did it! ...Phew.. Took alot outta me that did._pale_0 -

Welcome heyjustme. I'm sure CS can fit you on the roll of shame. Your post made me laught - although I'm sure that wasn't your intention.
Don't forget to think of a challenge for March - we're all at it.:DSave me from spending...

Anyway, I get paid monday and my shopping list consists of:
Hairdye (I've got a money off voucher and will get pigsback points too)
An intensive conditioner cause my hair is soooo dry (I'll get the cheapest one possible)
A car wash (I live in a block of flats and there is no way I can clean the car in the car park and the car is beyond dirty!)
Are this good spends or am I being stupid again?!
Morning! Member number 12 checking in for Monday morning confessional!
Well I didn't buy the hairdye as the voucher I had is only for permenant colour rather than semi permenant so I didn't buy that so £4.50 saved. I did buy an intensive conditioner that was 85p. Didn't do much but it smelt nice. Anyway you know I was going to spend only £2 on the cheapest car wash? Well I thought as I didn't buy the hairdye I'd spent £5 on the top grade wash!
Didn't come out brilliantly but it was better than it was and if I keep it up at least once a month (on the £2 wash with an occasional £5 wash) then it will keep it nice!! LOL
But when I went to the other garage to use the hoover (tescos don't have one!) there was a queue three miles long! S*d this I thought and I went to ARgos and bought a car hoover for £9.99! Now this is probably foolish spending but my car is sooo clean now and as I live in a top floor flat I can't really hoover my car with my normal hoover. *sighs*

Hey all,
Number 1 (Not very often I come first in anything!) checking in!
Jennyred - I am most proud of you. I don't think it matters about the purses. What matters is you went with a budget, and came in under it. I think that's fantastic. You'd need a telling off of you spent £50 over budget, but you came £50 under. OK, the Radley purses were probably unnecessary, but you can't go to London without bringing back a souvenir!
heyjustme - welcome to the board! Hope we can give you all the help that we can! I'll get my backside together later today and update the numbers!
Buffy - come back and talk to us!!! Why did you spend???
t.m.d. - I'm going to rationalise the £9.99 car hoover for you; you will save money in the long run won't you?
Do you see what I did there with the purses and the hoover? I managed to convince you that any 'unnecessary spending' was ok, because I could rationalise it. That's why I am a 'compulsive spender'. I can rationalise every unnecessary purchase, and that's scary. Unless I stop myself doing that I'm always going to be a compulsive spender.
Enough of the doom and gloom! I'm going to compile all of the March challenges that have been posted so far and stick them in a post later on. Once I've got them together in black and white there'll be no going back!!
Today should be a good one. I'm off work with my daughter because she has conjunctivitis, and I have no car today - OH has had to borrow it whilst his is in the garage. Ordinarily a day off would mean a trip into town, but I won't do that if it means catching the bus! So, just a walk into the village to get some veggies, and some jiffy bags (finally got my act together and have started selling on Ebay and Amazon!)
Hope you all have a good day,

I think they are very good rationlisations CS!!!!
The hoover will save me money in the long run as the hoover at the garage does cost £1 for 10 mins!
And who could go to London and not buy something!!0 -
I bought the simpsons movie
:o
and buffy series four:o
clearly both essential for life.......
I just got so miserable about going back to work, I had to give myself some thing to look forward at the weekend.
its ridiculous!
that is my pattern of spending.
slinks off.

I had a good weekend- I did go to Boots as I had 4 x £5 vouchers for no 7, but I took OH with me and he used three on Men's toiletries at £6 each and I used 1 on eye make up remover. Also had extra points voucher so got £7.50 of points for £4.50 cash spend. And I didn't buy anything else in Boots, which is a victory for me!
Also spent £3 in Poundland on Jiffy bags for all the tons of stuff I have been selling on eBay and Amazon recently. With all my sales I have made a net profit this weekend, which is pretty unheard of for me!
Puzzledbubbles, I too am a sucker for a book on offer! WH Smith at the train station is another of my weaknesses, but I've only bought one book this year (was buying a couple a week) and the one I did buy was half price on Waterstones, plus I has a £5 off code. Just sold it on for more than I paid for it!
