Its soooooo iritating when you loose your cards - have you stopped everything ok?

Last time it happened to hubby he spent all saturday morning running around the banks and making calls then realised he gets free card service with his bank and that they were all registered in one place - plonker.

GL on the no spends, i am trying trying to be really good for the rest of the week - have made my lunch for tomos and its in the fridge (but watch me forget to take it in the morning)

  • Hi Holics

    I don't have a member number.:o

Well since reading this tread I have been busy spending money, again.

I have bought 4 friut trees.. the reason, next door is "living the good life", (remember that)?. They are honestly they have corn, and even sprouts last year so the green eyed moster struck again. It was only when I got home I thought huh great buy I will have to wait for about a zillion years before they get any fruit on. But, the thought was there to save money in the long run.:T

Did get lots of bargains in Boots but after the leather wore off my shoes I realised I was buying for the points and not for the products. Oh I am so inteligent.(Not).

I went to Mr T's and left my cigs on the counter so now they have to do a stock check to see if I am lying. So I had to go to corner shop and spend even more money on them until I find out if Tesco can locate my missing item:o

Needed one more sticker to complete the card for a free coffee from Mac D's so spent £1.39 to get the final one to make 6. So my next coffee will be free. I really think I am going wrong somewhere...

So little Chicken my challenge for March is not to buy things to get things that are really not free really as it is costing me a fortune... It seems that there is a pattern forming here:rotfl:
  • I notice that no-one has picked up on my post about my excessive spending!! Goodie - think i've got away with it then!! LOL
  • Hi all,

Had £200 in my purse on Monday, have £100 today. Where did £100 go in four days? Well, £56 on the food shopping, £15 for a meal with work we're going on, £11 on cigs, £8 into the school cashless catering system, £0.90 on postage, and the remaining £9.10 on Red Bull, flapjacks, Nurofen, and Beechams? Not too happy about the fact that I have managed to spend £100 in such a short space of time, but the only 'compulsive' spends were the Red Bull and flapjack. How am I doing?

heyjustme - You do have a number now! I updated them yesterday afternoon, and they're all inthe first post. I'll be adding your challenge as well after I've finished this post, and you'll find that in post number 175. Love and hate Boots!! Their points system is definitely the best, but they know how to pull you in don't they?!

Little Chicken, I do hope you've managed to get your cards sorted out. If ever I lose my cards I try and turn it into a positive - at least I CAN'T spend unnecessarily if I haven't got the plastic!

Seems to be really up and down with us lot at the moment doesn't it? I'm beginning to understand a little bit more about why I spend like I do from reading everybody elses posts. I can definitely see patterns of behaviour that I recognise. I do the thing with Boots advantage points offers too. AND Quidco, as great as it is (I do love it!) had me spending LOADS when I first signed up, just so I could get the cash back. How backward is that?

In order to try and satiate my desire for new stuff now I've started sending off for freebies instead!! So far, I've had two free T-Mobile sim cards, four free O2 sims cards, some teabags, and have signed up for the ELC birthday club where your child gets a free gift on their birthday. I'm waiting for some cosmetic samples, some hair dye, and a 'green' pack! Hopefully this will help to curb my spending habits!

Hope evryone has a productive non-spending day!!

    CSx

  • thanks!!! am v.happy with my purchase!!!
  • good morning roomies - hope you are all well.
CS79 I know what you mean! I started the week with £80, that was going to last me 4 weeks but I am down to £60 already! I have been swimming twice and of to legs, bums and tums class which is £4!!!!
luckly am on nights next week so will not be spending a penny - no time to spend when your doing 87hrs!!!! so hopefully will still have £60 after I finish them which will leave me that amount for 2 weeks which is easily doable.
I cant believe how much I watch my spending now. I think having a sympathetic support network is the way forward.

    thank you to everyone

remember - smile and the whole world smiles with you!! :D

Firstly can I say :T , for being so committed to excercise!! I am in awe of you! I used to swim a couple of times a week before I had my DD, but now I don't go anymore, and the list of excuses is extensive; I ahven't got time, I'm too tired, noone to look after DD, if I take DD I can't actually do any swimmimg . . .
Sounds like you have quite an exhausting week ahead of you, but at least you won't be spending anything! :rotfl:
It's a small thing, but I think you're right about the support network. It certainly is helping me so far!
