Before I go,
ideas for challenges
- a no magazine week?
- no DVD buying for a week
- a month without X (you choose what to give up)
and def come here before buying anything on line.
I have piles of stuff to sell on E bay also. taking pictures tonight.

I think maybe we should set our own monthly goals, something achievable, but which will help curb the spending habit. Something good for me could be spending NO money on clothes for my daughter for a whole month!! Or buying absolutely nothing 'non-essential' online for a month  .
If you all PM me your personal goals for the month of March I'll compile them together. And the reward at the end of the month? - The satisfaction of knowing you've beaten your addiction for a month!!!!
Let me know what you think,

Its no one's fault that I bought shoes apart from myself. Don't worry yourself. If the shoes don't have grip then they are going back. If they don't fit they are going back within the 28 days (often forget and then can't get my money back)!
*sighs* I keep thinking of what my goal will be but because my normal way of life is to try and spend money on nothing anyway, I'm not sure what I can do!! LOL
PS Still haven't bought the moisturiser tho!! :T :A0 -
good afternoon guys
well, will be a real challenge for the next 3 days. going to london to meet some friends I have not seen for ages!!!! all those pretty, sparkly shops with all those precious shiney things!! arrgghhh
BUT have taken a positive step - have given OH all credit cards and am only taking bank acc card which has £200 pounds in it.
I DO NOT NEED ANYTHING - I MAY WANT SOMETHING BUT I DO NOT NEED IT!!!!
(thats going to be my mantra - my friends are going to think I'm weird and joined a cult or something  )
ps - really like the idea of personal challenges aimed at changing our habits on compulsive spending - will have a think while I'm in London baby!!!!!
good luck everyone0 -

No compulsive spending for me again today, but again that's only because I've got no money! Just you wait til payday, it'll be a whole different story. I shall be on here every five minutes when the internet shopping demons rear their ugly heads  .
I like the idea of being 'ebay neutral', trouble is, I don't know who'd want to buy my unwanted rubbish!! I have a huge pile of my daughter's old clothes at the minute from Mothercare, Next, and George at Asda (classy!), all in A1 condition (I've also got a huge pile that aren't so good!). Do kids clothes sell well on ebay? What about baby bottles (wihout teats)? I've got a cold-water steriliser as well. In fact, I've got shed loads of stuff I could get rid of, I just don't know who'd buy it!

Hi CS,
From what i've heard and from quotes on ebay itself childrens clothes sell very well. My only advice would be to weigh them with the packaging and get a p&p price from the royal mail website before uploading your items to ensure you don't lose your profit by under estimating the postage.
To be honest I think you could sell pretty much anything and everything on ebay. Even if its only a little profit, it all adds up and could be put towards something new(?) or even paying off a debt a little early.
The advantage for you if you are apprehensive of if things will sell is that ebay have changed their charges so you wont be charged so much when you list the item and you'll only be charged more if it sells.
I hope this helps. I have sold various things and done quite well, but with that said as we now it might not necessarily would for everyone, but worth a go in my opinion.

Hi Gems
Have listed a couple of things on 'da bay' as i like to call it. I'm going to treat myself to a night watching the Oscars on Sunday - so will take photos of things then. I didn't go out today, but still bought things online. They were all presents for later in the year - and had 60-70% off. To me this is still stupid spending.
I have PMT and am nearly crying - because I have no control over my spending - what a weed.
Hope the rest of you had a better day ;0)Save me from spending...

I spent again today on erm a website that sells erm you know...
When you walk into a chemist and buy erm cotton wool, and tooth brushes and all the things but what you need to ask for *coughs*
Anyway it was through Quidco and they were in an erm selection pack, but if you bought two selection packs you got something free to make the erm toothbrushes and cotton wool more fun - so I thought why not and it was free p&p and my Quidco cashback came through at £2.21 and erm the toothbrushes will be delivered in erm plain packaging lol!0 -
