  • I have a suggestion, I think BEFORE any of us (like t.m.d. did yesterday) buy ANYTHING on impulse, we need to come on here and talk about it first. It took quite a bit of persuasion yesterday, but in the end t.m.d. didn't buy the moisturiser! :j

    I LOVE YOU ALL!!

    CSx

I feel quite chuffed that I didn't buy it yesterday actually. To be honest if I hadn't of come here I probably would have bought it and be feeling guilty about it by now. But honestly, £5 shoes - you are going to take that away from me?!? :(
  • That's soooooo cheap!! We haven't got a big tesco by us (yet), and our Asda hasn't got a garage anymore :-(

All it does is squirt a bit of water and foam on and give it a brush over. Doesn't dry it or put any wax or anything on it, so really not cost effective cause I'll have to take it to be cleaned again by the end of the week!! LOL

cs - £170 will last a while. There's meat/store cupboard bits etc for 3 weeks of meals but will need to top up next week with bread/milk/veg.

  • Well all our budgets vary. I don't really have one as such. I generally just spend as little as possible!! Sometimes I do wish that internet shopping hadn't been invented!! LOL
  • *sighs* I've just bought something. I know when I get them I'll send them back so I'm not too worried and it was two pairs of shoes for a tenner plus £3.50 postage.

BUT at least I told you?!

    Hi guys,

Something I have started doing to save spending my incoming money is selling things I don't need/use on ebay and then using the profit for treats and little pressies for ourselves.

With items i've sold I bought my partner and myself a PS3 game for Valentines and I sold two rings I didn't wear yesterday and bought myself a bargain 12mp camcorder (£52 in P&P brand new).

What I find best about what i've started doing is that one, I have not missed any of the items i've sold, two, with a little work on ebay I have managed to buy a few bargains and three, a few of my items have sold for more than I originally paid.

My Challenge at the moment is to make money for my Birthday trip to Dublin next month rather than getting into any more debt for it and for me its proving to be very satisying.

  • I;m thinking about going for a few drinks tonight, thinking about whatto wear tonight, I spent £35 in primark, my treat for "giving up smoking"!!
Anyway, I bought a couple of really nice dress/top things, v similar to stuff have seen on mags. And I had a clear out the other week, a fair amount of stuff have never worn. And my conclusion? I overspend on clothes that I never have the bottle to wear, as I just don't think I'm trendy/cool enough to look good in them. So then I wear the same old clothes, feel bad that evryone around me is cool & trendy, and splurge again to make myself feel better.
Not spent a penny today, only going to buy my lunch today and hopefully oh will pay for drinkees tonight!

You could probably have looked at them in a shop for free lol:rotfl:
Not meaning to nit pick but that was the first thing I thought of
