I have to admit that I have never seen a dog pin another dog - but I also have a friend who swears that her staffie does this to other dogs - in particular 'rude' dogs or puppies.
I have to admit I'd like to see it to believe it though

I haven't got a dog, but would just like to say that if all dog owners had their dogs trained by Cesar Millan, then we would have far more well-balanced dogs and dog owners. I think he is brilliant , with a remarkable gift, and never cruel. Assertive, but that is necessary.
I have seen a friend of mine pin his border collie to the floor when the dog was attemting to be the top dog. He kept the dog there until the dog went into submission mode. He also 'bites' with his hand like Cesar does, although he was doing this before Cesar was on the TV, so he is not copying Cesar. He has three dogs (two border collies and a German Shepherd cross )who all know their place in the pack (subordinate to him and his wife), and are well loved and adore him. Because his dogs are well baklanced and know their place in the pack, they are lovely dogs who are quite capable of playing and doing things dogs do, but always obey their comamnds and they all, dogs and humans, walk for miles together and enjoy themselves.
As Cesar always says, you have to talk in dog language, not human.
Great, I hope he helps many more dogs and owners.(AKA HRH_MUngo)

Imagine someone holding forth on biology whose only knowledge of the subject is the Book of British Birds, and you have a rough idea of what it feels like to read Richard Dawkins on theology: Terry Eagleton0 -
I seen several breeds "pin" other dogs - my friends staffy cross did it to their dobie (he was a very "in your face" pup and the older dog wasn't standing for it!), Kira did it ot the same pup after he tried mounting her several times and she wasn't impressed... The two old english mastiffs I knew used to do it to each other (well the b!tch did it to the dog... he eventually learnt his place
)
And don't think it counts as "pinning" but the same b1tch used to control next doors very bouncy and pain in the backend weimaraner pup by sitting on him... never seen anything so funny in my life! :rotfl:DFW Nerd #025DFW no more! Officially debt free 2017 - now joining the MFW's!
