WHOA hold ya horses
Or hounds...
Guys - please remember this is a money saving forum - discussions like this are allowed by the grace of Martin and the MSE team... In order for that to continue we have to remember to be nice to each other even if we disagree. FC and I openly disagree on many points (CM included) but we agree to disagree
Same as I often disagree with pboae - again I like to think we agree to disagree on a lot of points but we both understand that having different points of view doesn't mean we have to start getting heated at each other.
So... can we stop the "he said she said" debate and continue a constructive debate about CM and his training methods?
Pretty please?
Anyway - yes I agree programs are edited - ofcourse they are! You'd be amazed at just how much is dropped in editing even for small inserts in IPTW (I spent HOURS filming for a total of I think 2 minutes of insert in one of the episodes... HOURS!!!!!!!)
Does CM have 100% success? No... and he admits that himself - he has had a FEW red zone cases (yes a Cesar term) where the dogs has simply been too aggressive to work with and too dangerous or unpredictable. I guess it could be argued that they might have had mental health issues rather than behavioural.
I still think Cesars methods are good - but as I have always said - not to be tried at home unless you actually know what you are doing... but I would say that of ALL dog training programs... they are to inform you and entertain you - NOT to give you the ability or knowledge to go and try it out yourself!DFW Nerd #025DFW no more! I agree MrsTine, I know we don't see eye to eye on many things, but you always articulate your position well, and back it up rationally, without getting personal. I try to do the same, not always as successfully as you.
But I do wonder why this thread is continuing, in fact I wonder that about most of this section. If you remove the requests for medical advice, the chatty threads like this one, and the insurance ones (which would be just as at home in the insurance section). There wouldn't be much left, and the occasional snippets that there are (usually questions about feeding) could go in MRF anyway.
I spend a fair amount of time in here for social/chat reasons, but in terms of actual moneysaving, I couldn't honestly justify it.When I had my loft converted back into a loft, the neighbours came around and scoffed, and called me retro.0 -
yeah, there does seem to be a lack of clarity and parity about what is closed and what stays - this thread has nooo moneysaving aspect or justification as far as I can see...0

What????
Are you crazy lady?????
Training is an expensive yet vital part of owning a dog - it therefore is a financially savvy owner who investigates different training methods including..ahem..cezar milan.

lol - even CM says 'don't try this at home!' and copying things you have seen on a TV programme (tailored to the needs of one dog) is no substitute for decent dog training that suits your dog.0 -

But discussion such as these give people an idea on the many different types of training out there, I wasn't trying to suggest cutting costs by trying to emulate tv shows:eek:
For example I left my dog training club after the trainer alpha rolled and growled at a dog
