I suggested to my son he rang 02 himself and ask what they would offer him. He's been with them for three years now. They offered 500xmins/500text for £20 inc VAT plus phone of his choice, SE w810i.
No trouble and phone on it's way. I still got the Mummy brownie points and he's happy bunny. I did suggest he should have tried for £15 a month but he said he was happy with 12 month contract, he'd told them he didn't want 18 month one. So if he's happy then all's well.:T0 -
received a text from 02 this afternoon saying
"Good news your nokia N80 is now in stock. please call 0800 xxxxxxx to complete your order. Terms apply"
Called them straight away and it will be here on Tuesday. It was a very limted stock and it's the Silver version.0 -
Me too
Happy days.

can you just call O2 and ask them to text when a particular handset is in stock?
I'm waiting for the k800i to come out. Was also wondering if anyone tried blagging to O2? I was thinking of saying that vodafone would give me the handset free if I joined them (just claiming it was a CSA that offered it over the phone)

Jeez, retentions really know how to play hardball! 3 calls to them and the best they would do was a 6280 for £160 and up my line rental to £25 that was until the 4th call when I decided to play the game saying "3" had offered me a free 6280 500 text and 100 xnet mins for £14.99 AND a £50 credit IF I took out the deal by end of business that day, then as if by magic o2 came back with a stunner of a deal.... A free 6280 200 xnet minutes and 500 texts with a £75 account credit for £15 PM!!!...... Needless to say I took them up on that deal!So many of our dreams at first seem impossible, then they seem improbable, and then, when we summon the will, they soon become inevitable Christopher Reeve (1953-2004)0

Yeah, you need to tell them deals you have been offered for them to budge.0

Do you HAVE to ring them at the start of the final month of contract? I have 6 weeks left and I am dying to ring them to renegotiate.0

Yes ring in 2 weeks time.
Or ring now, and ask them to put you through retentions. If you are transferred then start negotiating. If you get a great deal and you confirm it they will then check and reply that you have to wait. You can ask them to put that deal in your notes so you dont have to re-negotiate again.0
