  • Hi Everyone,

I just found this site and I love it! :T

I too am waiting for O2 to get the N80 in so that I can get it from retentions. I have just had gone through a two week argument with their customer services/complaints department about an unauthorised change in my tariff and so far have been offered the standard 500 x/net anytime minutes and 500 texts a month for £20/month - can't get a price on the phone yet though as they say it won't be in till tomorrow now, grr!

I am hoping to try to get through to a manager and complain about the date getting pushed back and see if I can't get the phone for free. Last year I took out an O2 retentions deal and the sales guy accidentally said the phone was free and after that, they had to honour the deal!

Anyone ordered an N80 from O2 retentions successfully yet??

Reading the posts here, it shows that if you put some effort in you can beat the mobile phone companies' extortionate prices! Excellent! :rotfl:

OK change of plan for me now. O2 are sending me my PAC code. Im am cancelling with them.

I gave Carphone Warehouse a ring and they have sorted me out with a LG Chocolate for £35 a month. This is on their flex tarriff which means they allocate you £180 to pay your bill each month on either texts or calls.

So for example i could use 100 minutes and send 1800 texts every month!!!

only drawback is that its an 18 month contract - but they have given me 10 months half price.

Oh and they are gonna let me have my o2 number as soon as the contract is finished

    Quite pleased am i .......:T

I am on O2 Online 50. Contract finishing 24 July.
I paid an average of £21 / month (Originally £19)
I called few weeks ago and bargained 500 minutes & 500 texts for £20 with a Sony z520i and a Free bluetooth. I know its a crappy fone but I dont wanna pay anything for fone.

After all was decided they realised I still have to go until 24 June. I asked them to put this offer as a note.

Should I go for this deal on 24th June or try bargaining more at that point?

When I dealt with retentions they offered me the Sony Z520i too. I said I didn't want it as I was buying the Sony W800i from a friend so they gave me £100 credit instead.
Why not ask for the credit instead of getting a fone you don't want then you haven't got the hassle of trying to sell it on.

Ok, it's that time of year again. Son has been out of contract for two months & hadn't realised  . He's been with 02 for about three/four years now. I managed to get good deals last year for him & OH and naturally have been given the task for this year;) . Need to keep getting these Mummy brownie points! :p

Has anybody recently been offered or managed to get Discount 500 or 750 for £15 or £17.50? He wants the SE w810i which I've noticed some of you have either been told it's been discontinued or not available. Obviously what I'm looking for is the cheapest/best tariff with that phone, which isn't negotiable, he says:eek: :p & he's always had SE phones!

We haven't gone through to Retentions department yet as I need to know what's available first ;) .

"3" are offering 600 xmins/300texts for £24 per month but naturally doesn't want to go with them as he's happy enough with 02.

    Many thanks :).

I got the discount 750 (i.e. 750 anytime cross network mins) + 100 texts for 17.50 a month last year.

Yesterday was the earliest I could contact them to renew my contract.

Basically with very little persuasion required on my part I got them to extend the half price line rental for a further 12 months with the only change being instead of my 100 free texts coming in the form of a 'loyalty reward' which meant the previous month's text spend was credited back the following month, they have now added a 100 text bolt-on onto my account at a cost of £5 per month BUT credited my account with £60 to cover the cost of this for the next year.

They have also credited my account with an additional £100 as I didn't want a new handset.

All in all I'm very happy but won't believe it till I get my next bill and see it in black and white!
  • Hi all. This is my first post in any chat forum so here goes!

I've only been with o2 for a year and my contract is due in July. Had a look at the Flext 35 deal with T-Mobile and rang O2 renentions to say I was tempted away!

They offered me 750mins and 350 texts for £20 per month with a free xda mini handset (like a mda vario) and a bluetooth headset. Only drawback is it's on an 18 month contract. I can get 500 mins and 300 texts for £20 per month on a 12 month contract.

Does anybody know if they still do the 750 mins 500 texts discount tarif for £17.50 per month on a 12 month contract? Also does anyone know of any good Sat Nav systems which will be compatible with the XDA mini?

    Many thanks.
  • Hi

I rang O2 in April to ask about an upgrade and improved tariff as my 12 month contract was up. I was offered the online 500 contract (500Xmins & texts) at £15 a month and a free W810i (the phone i was after). Unfortunately, the W810i was out of stock and I was told to phone back next week. I specifically asked the O2 guy that the tariff would be available then and that he would make a note of it.

After weeks of ringing back to ask about stock, eventually it was available and I was sent it out that very day. I checked the tariff I was on and everything seemed to be going well.

Then on 25th May I looked at my bill and found I was being charged £35 a month not £15! I have since rung up to find out what has happened, and was told that the Online 500 tariff is not available at £15 a month, and I shouldn’t have/or wasn’t offered it. After lots of time on hold they offered me the contract at £25 a month. I had previously been paying £25 a month for 500Xmins and 400texts and was not happy to accept this. I then asked about cancelling my contract and was told I would be penalised the cost of 11 months line rental if I did so.

I now find myself in a contract that I did not agree to, paying more than I was told.

I am currently drafting a letter to send to O2 detailing my circumstances in the hope that they will respond favourably.

Has anyone else been in a similar situation? Or have any advice?

    Thanks

Apparently the tariff I'm on (200 mins and 500 txts) should cost £30 per month. On my first online bill they had charged me the full £30 instead of the £15 I was offered it at. I called to complain and they said they couldn't change the £30 but they gave me £180 credit to cover it.

They will still take £30 from me each month but I've had it back already IYKWIM :D

I'd argue the fact that the 2 weeks cooling off period doesn't apply here as you had to wait 4 weeks to get the first bill. They might not budge but I'd also say you're going to get advice from CAB and see what happens.

  • In 11th Month of contract.

Phoned today to cancel with 02.

    They offered me 750x mins & 750 txts for £20/mth - 18 mth contract or 500x mins & 500 txts for £20/mth - 12 mth contract.

    Free phone - Nokia.5140, 3250 or 6111 .

    Any thoughts?

I want the nokia 6233 but it's not out till end of July. Could I agree contract now and wait for phone or just wait?

    Ta.
