said they will be happy to give me the same tariff again for another 12 months with the £100 credit - Fantastic!!
HTH
Matrix - is this £100 credit because you didn't want a new handset?
Also, are there any hints you can share for when calling up retentions? My contract ends in a couple of months - do you think I should bother to ring and discuss my next contract now? I assume this is first done with customer services, and then you phone retentions when you've been given a deal you're not happy with?
Thanks for any tips you can share with the collective :-)0 -

Whenever I have to phone now I just go straight through to retentions. Don't bother wasting time with CS.0 -
Just got off the phone with retentions as my 750 anytime mins ends next month. They have now offered my 1000 mins 100 texts and a sammy D600 for £20 a month.0

Matrix, You seem to be one of the most knowledgable people regarding 02 on this site, can you offer me any advice? I renewed my contract in january and have since been waiting for the Samsung D800 to come out, calling every month for six months almost and each time being told 'it'll be out next month'.
I've finally given up and chosen the new LG Chocolate but they're asking £50 for it. is there any way I can put the pressure on them to give me this phone for free after waiting so long for it?
i've noticed that new customers get it for free..?!
Thanks

Have spoke with the retentions dept again and told them that I am not happy about getting moved from the Discount 500 tariff after my 12 month period. The advisor i spoke to went and spoke with a manager and came back and said they will be happy to give me the same tariff again for another 12 months with the £100 credit - Fantastic!!
The advisor has made a note of our conversation and told me to call back on my renewal date which is the middle of June and ask for their extn number and they will sort the deal out for another 12 months.
I made a quick call back to the retentions dept and spoke with another advisor to confirm that my account notes had been updated correctly and the advisor read out what the first advisor had left in the notes and it confirms that i've to get the same deal again.

Hi
Does anyone know any good upgrade deals on the Nokia N91 with 02 200 for example, they told me to ring back on Monday 22nd May when they expect to have it available they have no prices yet but I would like the best deal available atm to get them to match or beat it
They offered me a Nokia N70 for free with O2 200 mins 100 txts for £15 a month after I asked to leave
Cheers0 -
I rang them earlier. They offered me either W810i or N70 free on £15/month with 200mins + 100txts.
I am after the N80 but it is not available from O2 at the moment.0 -

Hiya!!
The £100 credit is given for not taking a new handset.. I'm not really bothered about handsets in fact I use a Nokia 1101, brilliant wee phone its basic but has excellent battery life and does everything I need.
Call the Retentions Dept direct on 0870 600 7102, Dont think there is any Free Phone number as far as i know.
When you call Retentions just ask them for the Discount 500 or Discount 750 tariff, saying something like you've been told to ask for it since one of your colleagues or friends are on it and they were thinking of leaving O2 and have now stayed since getting this tariff.
I did this for one of my colleagues at work and he got the Discount 500 Tariff with NO Texts for £12.50 per month with a £100 Credit.

Hi Dee,
If I were you I'd send an e-mail to peter.erskine@o2.com
He is the Managing Director of O2 and when he gets your e-mail detailing your complaint he will pass on to his customer relations team, dont get these advisors confused with customer services. This Team of Customer Relations Officers have more authority than Customer Services and can usually sort problems out very quickly and award compensations for poor service.
I sent an e-mail with a complaint at 11am one morning, by 3pm I had a call back and the problem sorted with 3 months free line rental as a good will gesture.
Let the thread know how you get on.0
