I have been offered 500 x-net anytime minutes and 500 texts for £20 per month, with choice of free phone (SE W810i, Nokia 6280 etc). Seems like a fairly good deal for the line rental, but I'm tempted to hold out for the Nokia N80. Any thoughts? Can't pin them down as to when it will be available...

Just phoned them now and it's been put back untill the 6th of June and is a price of £129.99 but she did not say which tariff this would be on.

Has anyone actually received the Nokia 6280 yet from O2.

I have been waiting for 3 weeks for the handset to come into stock - they tell me they are expecting some in soon. I'm not impressed that I am having to pay £50 for a handset, that many other companies are now offering for free as its no longer considered brand new - if other firms are giving them away for nothing now. I am thinking of cancelling on monday if they do not deliver my new handset. Seems that they will not budge on the £50 fee for the handset either.

    Anyone got theirs yet?

O2 are not allowing me to cancel unless I write in to them. I was told that o2 can change the terms and conditions to view online for 30 days or more, at such time it becomes legally binding with no option to cancel there after.

There is also a charge to disconnect if after writing you are successful.

o2 customer services are not easy to get straight answers from they come up with delays so the rep your speaking to does not have to take any action/responsibility for your complaints.... passing the buck.

Can anyone help me with a good letter to send in that will make them sit up and consider and honour my rights to cancel due to the changes of our terms and conditions?

When my OH cancelled he just had to give them notification of 30days and 30 days later the contract was cancelled and a final bill issued. There shouldn't be any cancellation fee providing you are outside of your 12 month contract.

If you are within your 12 month contract then they usually charge you for the remaining monthly line rental untill the end of the contract.

  • Are you planning to get another contract or PAYG with another provider?
Can you just not request a PAC number, give that to your new provider and that automatically terminates your existing contract when the number is transfered?

Is anybody getting to the stage where they are nearing the end of their Discount 500 deal? I've got a couple of months left to run on this, but was wondering what people's plans were...

Matrix999 - I notice that retentions have told you that you won't be able to continue on the discounted deal, I assume then that this will be the same response for me, and that we are all facing going back to our not so competitive plans.

Anyone managed to negotiate an extension to the discounted deal/negotiate a good new deal?

    UPDATE!!!

Have spoke with the retentions dept again and told them that I am not happy about getting moved from the Discount 500 tariff after my 12 month period. The advisor i spoke to went and spoke with a manager and came back and said they will be happy to give me the same tariff again for another 12 months with the £100 credit - Fantastic!!

The advisor has made a note of our conversation and told me to call back on my renewal date which is the middle of June and ask for their extn number and they will sort the deal out for another 12 months.

I made a quick call back to the retentions dept and spoke with another advisor to confirm that my account notes had been updated correctly and the advisor read out what the first advisor had left in the notes and it confirms that i've to get the same deal again.
