I'm just going to merge this thread with a previous long running thread about users getting new deals from 02

I today got 750 xnet minutes and 750 text messages for 25 quid a month plus Samsung D600- I was on 200 xnet minutes and 500 text messages a month for 30 quid a month before. You might be able to do better than that, but I think that for a heavy user it's a great deal. It's an 18 month contract with the chance to upgrade after a year for thirty to sixty quid depending on the phone.salli9 wrote:My son's contract with o2 up in 6 weeks, just rang about upgrade. He is a heavy user, bills normally £40- £50. Been offered 750 x mins
750 texts, Nokia 6280 £30 a month, 18 month contract. Do you think I can get any better?0 -
Just coming to the end of my contract. I was going to just use a freebie sim card and go payg. I really dont use the phone much just for emergencies but i'd love a new phone and if i could get a cheap deal that would save on my landline it would be terrific.
Any advice/suggestions? Very mean and wouldnt go above about £10 a month as i've been paying £35 for 6 months then down to £19 to get over the contract (and i only get 25 mins and 25 texts for that, money down drain)
Thanks for all help

Hey Folks!!
Thought i would drop in and see how the thread is running, good to see more people getting good deals from O2.
I wanted to share something with you, i recently logged onto my unbilled calls section of the O2 website and noticed that my 400 free text bolt on had been removed. This was confirmed by customer services through e-mail. I then called customer services to get it put back on but they said it couldn't be done, as it was a computer error. The advisor apologised and said it should not have been taken off in the first place and immediately placed a credit on my account since she was not able to put it back on.
I sent an e-mail off to Peter Erskine CEO explaining what happened and how pleased i am overall with the O2 service. This was e-mailed at 11am and by 3pm the same day i had a call from one of his staff in customer relations who again apologised for the errors and immediately put the 400 free texts back on with an £80 credit to say sorry for the mistake.. This was made up of £50 compensation and £30 for three months free line rental.
Now - Thats what i call customer service

Thanks to OP for starting this thread and all those who've contributed to it. My O2 contract expires in 30 days and I rang them following all the recommendations on here and they've halved my monthly bill, offered me a phone upgrade, which I declined so they gave me a 100.00 credit. Then my OH rang them, he accepted the upgrade and got the half price tarif deal. Can't thank you all enough as I'm sure without being a part of this I would never have done this and saved so much money. Cheers everyone :beer:0

I'm looking for a new deal and haven't used 02 before. Has anyone any suggestions about the best deal out there for a new user. I want a Nokia and about 60mins plus a month x network.
Thanks0 -

Best thing to do is have a look on the O2 website for the best deals and connect to O2 through the website or an O2 shop. Then after 1 year you will be able to re negotiate your contract with the retentions department and get a deal similar to the ones listed above
A word of warning though - Do not get your O2 contract in a CPW shop or CPW Online as you become an indirect customer of O2 and you won't get as good a retention deal after one year.

Matrix999, I would send your thread to o2 and they might employ you as a sales rep lol.
