Daughter has been with o2 for 12 months and contract is up for renewal on the 27th July. She is on the on-line plan 200 at a cost of £30 a month. I rang retentions and told them that i had contacted orange and they would do the same deal for £20 a month with a free nokia 6230i.............and hey presto o2 have agreed to do it for the same price. Daughter is made up with that as she gets
    200 mins x-network............500 texts........120 picture messages...........200 mins internet....

At a tenner a month cheaper she is made up.......

    Thats also a good deal!!

I would say to you that you could have pushed O2 for some more mins but if your daughter is happy with 200 mins then thats great.

I got the following from O2 and have been with them for many many years:

    Discount 500 Tariff - 500 X Network mins Anytime
    500 Free Text Messages
£10.00 Line Rental Discount Per month which makes it £15.00 per month

    £110.00 Credit to my account

i tried this, but the best they offered me was 250 xnet anytimemins = 100 texts for £12 per month plus free SE k700i.
I want the k750i or the nokia 6230i.
How can I get them to give it me?

It depends on your call spend, how long you have been with O2 etc etc..
You could try saying that 3 have offered you 500 X Network mins and 500 Free Texts for £15.00 per month and see what they say

    Folks,

Just got my O2 Online Bill this morning and have noticed that instead of charging £15.00 per month for Discount 500, O2 are only charging £10.00 per month but under that it says £10.00 Line Rental Discount so overall i'm getting charged nothing for this new tariff.

Have phoned O2 this morning to check everything was in order and the advisor said its all correct and has e-mailled me confirmation of it!!

    What a Result!!

How long have you been with O2 and what did you say to the advisor when your call was connected to Retentions?

Can someone please confirm that you have received 400 free texts on o2 discount 750, I have been with them for 4.5 years and spend about £60 a month and have requested that I be moved onto discount 750. They will do that for me but will only give me 100 free texts....they claim that heir system will only allow 100 free...

Any ideas how to push them for the full 400

Just got my Discount 500 tarriff and a free k750i.

It's actually 400 texts and if you go over, you pay for it on your bill but up to an additional 100 texts are refunded every three months. Hence 500 free texts - a bit confusing, but I think that's right...

I had been a customer for 5 years (my tarriff was on BT Genie for those of you who remember that far back), and I had never had an upgrade. Ever. I told them I was still using my Nokia 3210. Which I may or may not be using anymore...

Also interestingly, the girl I spoke to referred to it as 'The Three contract'...

I got Discount 500 for £15 with 100 texts. I tried to get more texts by phoning back again but got the same excuse that their system system couldn't handle it. Still it is a good deal. I also got a new K750i for £30 which I have just sold for £231.51 on eBay. This means that O2 are paying me approximately £1 per month (after eBay fees). When you think of the standard deals that O2 are offering, I think that anyone that gets the Discount 500/750 has done very well.
    Nice to save.
