    Hi Matrix

I have just called and they said they can only do 500xmintues and 400txt for £25
Did you get the name of the person you spoke to. They also said the 750 cross network minutes is £35

Sorry its taken me a while to get back to you.. I've been back on the phone this afternoon to O2 and asked them how they calculate discounts etc.. It does depend on many factors one of the most important is loyalty to the network. I've been with O2 for just under 9 years and so apparently i'm classed as a very high loyal customer and therefore get more loyalty discount.

They also look at your call spend, so if you don't spend much with them they are very unlikely to offer you anything exciting.

It is worth saying that you have seen other deals and see what they come up with.

I've now accepted an offer of:-

Discount 500 Anytime X Network Mins
    500 Free Text Messages
A further £10.00 per month line rental discount
£110 Credit applied to my bill straight away - No Cashback carry on!!

So the deal costs as follows:

Line Rental £15.00 per month instead of £25.00 per month

    £15.00 X 12 = £180.00 - £110.00 Credit = £70.00 divided by 12 months

    = £5.83 per month approx
  • the key to getting a good deal through o2 retentions is by saying you are moving to three!! trust me they will be like puty in your hands!!! ;)

I have to disagree with you Soul Sister they dont always just give amazing discounts just because you mention 3!!!

The networks base discounts on loyalty with the network and average spend per month.

The Three threat certainly worked for me! I've only been with O2 for two years. My first year was a SIM only deal which was £15 per month and the second was £20 per month because I wanted a new handset after a year. I probably only incurred additional costs of £15 per year. So, who knows how they do it?
    Nice to save.
