dealhunter wrote:Hi Guys,
My wife is has an o2 Genie SIM - Pay as you GO £10/pm.
Was wondering if anyone has tried to upgrade their phone with O2 - when on a Pay as you Go tariff?
Wonder if they can offer anything competitive?
She's after an EF61 or 6111 pink - I have found them for £70 (EF61) and £90 (6111) so far.
Cheers
DH
If you dont mind me asking???
Where have you found a pink 6111 for £90?
I cant seem to find them under £1200 -
You can actually get the 6111 pink on a 12 months contract free via cashabck.
Either with O2 (250mn, 100 txts) or Orange Canary (200mn, 75 txts). Its £30/month but you are refunded £360 over the year so effectively you have free phone and free min and txts.0 -

I would like the Sony K800i, with at least 200mins and 200 texts per month on a 12month contract - any idea what sort of price I should be looking to pay a month, and if I should expect to pay something for the handset ?
Grateful for any response ...Certain OTT members have caused me to add this disclaimer: all advice given is free of charge & as such should be taken to be IIRC (as I don't spend hours researching all answers  )!0 -
my partner upgraded with 02, you have to enter new sim in old phone or something, phone o2 customer services they tell you what to do, he got back £15 after a month so was oki will be debt free, i will0

I've just come off the phone with o2 online retentions and was not offered anything better than what I am already on!
I pay £15/m for 100mins and 500texts at the moment. I was offered 125 mins and 500 texts for £20/m (+ free phone) for a 16 month contract.
I don't go over the amount I have now so this deal is useless for me.0 -

Are you an online customer and did they say you could continue on your current deal or not?0 -

to copy matrix' posts:
Give the following number a call, it will connect you through to Peter Erskine's Senior Customer Relations Team at there Head Office. This is the highest department in O2 you can speak to.
I have dealt with them earlier this year and have found them to be excellent in resolving problems and complaints.
The number is: 0845 3300684

Some insider information.
I work for O2 Retention
The ball game has changed.
We are looking to increase the amount of money spent every month by each customer.
They have cut the deals that we can offer - some of the deals we offer were ridiculous!
We now retain on basis of spend.
You spend less than £20 - no attempt will be made to save you. Want a handset and want to stay? Fantastic.
Want to move to another network? You are more than welcome to.
We are looking to retain more high spending customers.
We also base the cost of your upgrade on your average spend.
I.E - you can have the best handsets on the market for FOC if your spend is over £50 etc.
If you spend less e.g £25pcm - there are limitations to what handsets you can have FOC.
This makes obvious business sense - we need still to make money at the end of the day!
Some of the deals out there are very good... BUT there are strings attached... Cashback by redemption/poor customer services/networks without their own actual networks...
At the end of the day, you get what you pay for...
AND!!!!... You might ring us this year for a cracking deal, come and get the best handset and loads of minutes and texts for FOC....
Come back the following year? We either tell you where to get off, or your back to the bottom of the 'spend matrix' and back to having a basic handset again.
Retention is good. It should be used - I agree - but don't abuse it. The complete industry is pushing itself to the limits in marketing, capturing new business etc. It can only go so far. So enjoy it while you can.
Oh, and trust me. We give the moody !!!!!! much less than we do the nice people who are upfront and honest about what they are up to!!!0
