  • I think it is just luck on who you get. I called up not expecting to stay with o2 and I asked for my PAC code. I wasn't demanding for an offer to make me stay and just told her that I had seen a better tariff elsewhere.

I know everyone should be offered the same deal but there are lots of factors that come into it. Is it nearly home time? Do they need the sales to meet a target? It may even come down to the day of the week and time. I am sure a salesperson would be generally happier just after lunch on a friday afternoon.

Keep trying and you will get a good offer :)
  • Heh yeah, I rang up quite late and the guy sounded like he'd had enough (and REALLY didn't want me railing into him, which I verily did because by that point I was truly hacked off). He just fobbed me off with a couple of crap offers and 'there's nobody else to speak to about this, these are the best deals we can offer you' spiel. Rubbish. :D

    Gonna try again tomorrow... Woop

I managed to negotiate 200 xnet mins plus 500 texts for £15 per month with £100 credit for not taking a new handset. Basically £80 for a year.

I am pretty happy with this. Was previously on online 50 tariff at £19 per month.
  • Hi Guys,

My wife is has an o2 Genie SIM - Pay as you GO £10/pm.

Was wondering if anyone has tried to upgrade their phone with O2 - when on a Pay as you Go tariff?

Wonder if they can offer anything competitive?

    She's after an EF61 or 6111 pink - I have found them for £70 (EF61) and £90 (6111) so far.

    Cheers

I am just about to ring with the same question. I'll let you know how I get on.
Never argue with an idiot. They bring you down to their level and beat you with experience.
  • Hi everyone, a newbie here whose 12month O2 200 2005 (£30.99/month) is about to expire.

I would like the Sony K800i, with at least 200mins and 200 texts per month on a 12month contract - any idea what sort of price I should be looking to pay a month, and if I should expect to pay something for the handset ?

    Grateful for any response ...
  • If you argue well you should get that down to £15 per month. As for the handset cost it depends how much your annual spend was each month on average
  • Thanks charltonfan1 for the quick response.

The bill was always £30.99 each month, and I tended to have about 20 minutes and 50 texts left over each month, but I am using more now so wouldn't want to get less minutes and texts.

    cheers

The Genie sim is a better deal. Cheapest contract offered was £19/month but very little better than the tenner for 100 mins/texts on PAYG.

  • Just negotiated 400 Mins and 50 texts on a 18 month contract for £6.70 / month - no phone included. Previously on £30 Month 200 mins / 50 texts.Told them i have an offer from Orange for £6/month @200 mins + 50 texts along with Samsung D500. First offer was 200 mins, he upped it after the sound of me sucking my teeth.
