After reading this post i to gave 02 a call and was amazed to be offered the 500 mins tariff which was gna be double for the 1st 6 months with the nokia n73 for free!!- this happened a month ago
Rang back today was told i was on a business tariff which i didnt know, well to break it down a normal consumer who is on a business tariff so after spending 2 hours on the phone was told i would not be getting the tariff and the best they could offer me was 500 mins for £35, even though they are offering 750 mins + 150 text on their website for £35
im not happy and am still fuming
piece of advice make sure you know what you sign up to before hand and this way you will save the hassle of fighting with CS for 2 hours! Thedrick are you aware of this???
Was it retentions you spoke to for 2 hours? Because i have found the normal CS advisors know very little about the possible tarriffs on offer to existing customers. Retentions are more helpful:
o2 instore/paperwork tariffs retentions: 0800 0288151 8am to 8pm i think
o2 online retentions: 0870 600 7102
08.00 - 18.00 Monday - Friday

First Post - WooHoo!!
Another good news story thanks to the help from this forum
It's that time of year when my contract is up so I rang O2 to see what I could get out of them. The first couple of attempts weren't very successful, offered silly money for a D900 (£159 was the best offer).
Anyway, tried again on Monday and they offered me this:
D900 for £69.00
£10 discount on my tariff (making it £10 a month)
Happy with that, bit their hand off and placed the order
Called again on Tuesday to get my order number and the agent said that an order for a D600 (still at £69) had been placed. Not happy so cancelled the order and asked for my PAC there and then.
Fumed for a bit then trawled through this forum and found the post about emailing Peter Erskine (O2 CEO). Sent an email off detailing my problem and sat back waiting for a reply.
Got a call today from 'Michael' in Customer Relations (very nice man) who apologised for the mistake and gave me the D900 for nothing! Outcome for O2 = happy customer, outcome for me = £120 saved and a lovely new D900.
Thanks again for all the advice, and remember, if you're not happy, go straight to the top!0 -
Hi Charlton Fan
I spent 2 hours between 3 different call centres them being retentions, business call centre and business retentions, they all kept saying i was a consumer set up on a residential tariff, am still gutted about this, was told at one point if i have been offered the tariff it needs to be adhered to no matter what and then i was told its impossible it can be offered, might as well go for a cashback deal even though the companies never pay out!0 -
To bidi123
I would seriously consider emailing Peter Erskine (Peter.Erskine@O2.com) detailing all the calls you've made and what you've discussed. It doesn't have to be anything formal, my email just bullet pointed the facts and the things I wasn't happy with.0 -
Hi Hc
thanks for your reply, spoke to o2 again they have offered me 900 minutes and 50 text for £35 per month on a 24 month contract (first 2 months free) with a nokia n73 handset, which is pretty good deal but the only thing im concerned is about is the 24 month contract, 12 month contract i only get 400 mins + 500 mins for 1st 6 months, and its still for £36 with N73
i think this is a pretty good deal, what do you think and thanks for giving me some advice appreciate it

Bidi - they should offer you 500/500 for £20 if you barter with them, say your friend has been offered this. However the N73 will be chargeable.
12 x £20 = £240 + handset cost
should be better than
12 x £36 = £432
or
24 x £35
Depends if 500 mins is enough for you?0 -

Hiya mate
Thing is ive been told i cant get this tariff as im setup as a business customer this is only available to normal consumers, i was offered the 500 minutes tariff with the text with an n73 for free due to my monthly spend (£70) but coz im set up as a business i cant have this tariff as its exclusive to only normal consumers0 -
ok thats annoying i see your dilema now. Have you thought about changing to another network for a better deal? Orange has some with loads of minutes0
-
thats the thing im checking all over i would like approx 400-500 minutes with around 100-200 for the cheapest price, but cant see any good offers with orange, only operator that really offers this is surprise surprise o2, dont really fancy goin back to em
please help0 -
I have been with O2 on contract for 2 years and pay £25 per month for 100 anytime mins and 500 texts.
I would like more anytime mins (say 300/400) but could do with less texts (300) and my contract is due to be renewed at end Sept.
There are some very long threads on retentions but I don't really know how to tackle them. Do I ring and say I have seen x and y and will they match or do you just ask them for the best deal?
Pretty novice at this so a helping hand would be appreciated.
ThanksNever argue with an idiot. They bring you down to their level and beat you with experience.0
