I have been on the discount 750 for months now and I just got the Nokia N80 on upgrade from a P910i and the battery doesn't even last a day, really disapointed. Also the screen keeps freezing and its the slowest phone I have ever known.
Might get the K800i but on another netwok now. Doesn't matter how much they offer me to stay, I've had so many customer service issues with O2 that i'm off.
EG last months phone bill was so wrong I'm owed £85.35!!!! Glad I checked it!

How long have you had the phone? It does sound like its faulty so I would get in touch with O2 and get it changed.

Only a week! I just put it down to not having a good enough battery and the fact my brother said the same about his N80 too. I need something more reliable.

These guys at O2 are really messing my mate around, he was offered £20 a month, 750mins + 750texts, and £29.99 for D900 about a week ago. He wanted the phone for free so thought he would ring again to try. He rang back only today to be told nobody had offered him the deal as it was not on the system. So they said the same deal except £49.99 for the phone, he was annoyed at the time so chose not to accept it. He had a think about it and couldn't be bothered with the hassle and then again he rang and now they are saying the phone is £49.99 and the tariff is £28!

Is this normal for them as I think it is pretty out of order, they keep saying to him we record calls and people leave notes etc. Anyone got any advice for what he can do?

    Thanks in advance.

With O2 you have 14 days to return it, so you could do that and then arrange for an upgrade to another phone.

You are right, all calls are recorded so if he wants to go for a deal that has been offered to him, just ask for a team leader and aask them to drag up a call from .... and they will then have to go with that deal.

Send it back to O2 then. As SMC said you have 14 days to change your mind. Call them and tell them the problem & you;d like to change it for ??????. Can't see any problem.

That's interesting Tedrick as that happened with me last year. They retracted on the deal offered saying they had no note of it on my file etc but eventually we came to another deal although not as good as the first. I shall remember that in two weeks time when I start to organise other son's new tariff and phone.:p

Can I ask what the most popular phone is atm? Son has w810i which we had to pay £99 for last year, although he did pay half. He wants a new phone with new contract & I'd like to know what is the best we can possibly try to get without paying a huge sum this time. Many thanks.

It all depends what he uses the phone for, other than calling?
If he has a w810i then I assume he has it for the advanced walkman (mp3) function and the additional memory card that it ships with.
If he is not too bothered with using the phone as an mp3 player why not go for the SE K800i.

The K800i is a 3g handset that has a 3.2 mega pixel camera, can still handle mp3 and other music files and has a host of great software.

On some contracts you can expect to get this phone for free - A huge saving which is what being on MSE is all about......
  • Hi

After reading this post i to gave 02 a call and was amazed to be offered the 500 mins tariff which was gna be double for the 1st 6 months with the nokia n73 for free!!- this happened a month ago

Rang back today was told i was on a business tariff which i didnt know, well to break it down a normal consumer who is on a business tariff so after spending 2 hours on the phone was told i would not be getting the tariff and the best they could offer me was 500 mins for £35, even though they are offering 750 mins + 150 text on their website for £35

im not happy and am still fuming

piece of advice make sure you know what you sign up to before hand and this way you will save the hassle of fighting with CS for 2 hours! Thedrick are you aware of this???
