You should be able to have a little more time to yourself now Matrix!
That time of year nearly here again.................youngest Uni son's contract up with O2 in October. I would like to sort out the new contract before he disappears in a couple of weeks. Not sure about the phone he wants but do know his K800i battery is on the blink & will obviously want a new one anyway  .
Are you still able to negotiate a new contract with 4/6 weeks to go?
He's been with O2 for a few years although always PAYG until last year. I took out the £30 rolling monthly deal as Matrix suggested & then after the first month was able to negotiate 500 mins and 200 texts for £20 so quite a good deal!! His bill is always over.
Do I stand a good chance of getting extra mins eg 750 mins and more texts for same price or could I be lucky and get them for less, which is really my aim? Just need to think how hard I should negoiate this year.
Hi Lara,
Regardless of what rumours fly around, as to what the disconnections team can and can't do, we are limited in the end by how the customer uses the phone.
If we have a customer who calls through and has an average bill of say, £46 per month, we would be given X amount to spend to save that customer. And on the other hand, if a customer comes through who spends just their line rental £19, we would have Y to spend.
In a nutshell, the more you spend, the better you chances at getting a cracking deal when you upgrade.
IN all honesty, if you want to see what you can do with them, let them know you've seen a deal on '3'....
2000sms 400mins for £15 a month....
That should make them listen.
Sorry i couldn't be of more help.CPW Retail

I called again and reffered to other sites offering better deals but they wont offer anything better. I am ready to pay 20£ per month and want w810i with it. Do you guys recon a third call will make any difference? Any suggestions.....
The £25 tariff you mentioned is only availble with 3G handset, hence being offered a 6280.
Alternatively, we are offering the Sony Ericsson free of charge with all contract on our website at the moment, £19 - £45 monthly line rentals.CPW Retail

Hi Tedrick,
I've been offered 12 months contract on 500 x-net + 500 txt for £20 per month. or 18 months contract on 400 x-net+ 500 txt for £15 per month.
Do you think that's the best deal ?
p.s. I normally spend 30-35 per months, being offered either £100 resign credit or £79.99 for N80 /K800i. I'd like to keep my number and keep the 12 term cost as low as possible, even with 50min+200 txt...don't know what is the lowest line rental for that price plan?

Lucky you, i have begged them, but they wont move a bit, i even agreed to pay 25£ but i wanted N73 with it, they wont offer me that either.0 -
Hi Blue,
What is your usage with regard to Minutes and Texts??
I would suggest taking the 12 month option as that works out cheaper (£240 after 12 months as oppose to £270 on the 18 month).
Paying for either handset would be worth it as they retail at £250-300 handset only.CPW Retail

How much do you normally spend per month?
try to call them again, and you may get a better deal!0 -
Hi Tedrick,
Thanks for your reply. My existing O2 contract is on O2 200 - 200 x-net + 100 txt.(£30 per months). I mainly use 0870 numbers to call abroad. And I 'm not sure if O2 will change their t&c in future to exclude 0870/0844 numbers.
However, I'd prefer to keep my existing number on the lowest tarriff, and may just use skype instead.

Just got off the phone with retentions
Mentioned the "Three" deal for £15 - which is a cracking deal btw
Currently on online 50 (£20 per month)
Was offered online500 for £20 p/m with £100 credit or if I wanted K800 it was £119 extra !!!!! and the xda mini S was £269 !!!!!!!!!
This was only first attempt so have asked for PAC code for now
Would have taken it if the K800 was free (which it is on all online monthly plans now)0 -
meandu229 wrote:tedrick or anyone, say someone got a retention deal of a 30 quid a month tariff for 15 a month by alot of so a 18month contract they get 9months credit on their account, if there anything to stop them changing their tariff to a cheaper one making the credit last longer?0

meandu229 wrote:bump? anyone?
I would imagine that hey would require you to stay on your current tariff as agreed. You agreed to pay HP line rental on that tariff, if you change tariffs, then as with other promotional deals, i would think that you would lose the credit and revert to full price.CPW Retail
