    Good morning everyone,

I've been in the kitchen. It's been one of those day's that it feels like I've been in there all day. I cooked a few pumpkins, mashed and froze portions. Made an avocado & walnut cake which is nice. Breadcrumb mixture for the freezer for eggplant. Zucchini slice for tea.

Visited DGS after arv tea as I had to give him a bag of Poppa's carrots. He loves carrots. I then went out and did some work in the garden. My knee's are about shot. :D I suppose I can always say I've been praying too much. I don't think anybody will believe me though. Showers forecast for most of this week.

Vicky Your London jaunt sounds lovely.

N9eav Count me in too. Someone will have to control Ruby. :D

Does anybody have a good recipe for Elderflower Jam? I've googled and all that comes is combination jam like Elderflower & Rhurbarb etc.

Off to have a sticky beak and then watch CSI. Miss Marple was good last night. I had to pull out my knitting as I dropped a stitch  and then made a bigger mess trying to fix it up. Back to square one tonight. Have a great day and hope you keep warm. :D Byeeeeeeeeeeeeee

    Morning all

Congrats on another win Cat - good luck with the pasta too - we watched that and really fancy getting a pasta machine now - argos have one reduced to £7.50 but there's none in stock near me and I refuse to pay £4.95 for delivery (cos I'm tight! :D )

The rest of yesterdays ebay sales finished and we ended up with £167 - got another 8 items finishing next weekend that are already at £7 with loads of watchers :j . All but 3 have paid now too so will get them all packed up today - our local postoffice has closed so DH has taken 20 items with him to work this morning, that's his dinner hour sorted ;) .

Woken with a sore throat and itchy ears this morning - looks like I've caught DD's colds - share and share alike eh. It's not half term here until next week so I've still got to do the getting up lark.

Going to do a tray bake today inspired by PP's yummy pic over the weekend - I've got a silicoln baking tray and DH converted the reciepe to fit it - he has some uses bless him. Will do some banana muffins too as they all seemed to have turned at the same time. Need to finish painting my dresser today and try and get some more work done on my mothers day pressies, need to make their cards too....eeekkk so much to do.

Tuna fish cakes for DD's and I tonight, DH can have a portion of sausage plait left from last week, wedges and corn cobs to go with it.

Hope you all have a great day.

    Morning everyone

go easy on yourselves those recovering from illness, those in grief or those just feeling the blues

N9eav - bit far for me to come for a party but you can raise a glass instead.

today will be spent waiting for the boiler man who was suposed to come the week before last and attempting to cook all the meals for this week in one hit - the freezer is looking a bit shocked as it had a major clear out in readiness. I need to sort out the proper order for preparing everything but it will be nice coming home to something I just need to heat up. Other things to look forward to are cleaning out the hamster and doing a water change for the fish - I know how to live!

exoh coming over tonight - he badly let dd11 dwon yesterday as we were supposed to be celebrating her maths sats results and he pulled out. She doesn't want to see him next weekend so he promised to take her swiming. She said that he won't and he has promised her a tenner if he doesn't - the sad thing is that she will probably come back a richer but sadder little girl.

quit burbling - get cooking - byeeee
I'm going to feed our children non-organic food and with the money saved take them to the zoo - half man half biscuit 2008

Hi - just popped back on with a coffee while my kitchen floor is drying and before I go to the gym.

HILSTEP - (((((((((Hugs))))))))) to you. It will be a very emotional day for you; I'll be thinking of you and your family. (((Hugs))) to your Dad, too. I'm so glad the weather is being kind to you for today.

NOVICE - You won't need any more cookery magazines now; most of my recipes come from the indexed collections on here and all the tips and advice have given me loads more confidence for experimenting with food. I'm a better cook than I thought I was and my DH tells me I'm brilliant so, thank you MSE and all the OSers on here!

ANNIEB- I hope DS gets better soon.

Well, my DS1 has managed to get an appointment with the doctor tomorrow and thinks he'll be able to drive himself there. I've made him promise to ask me for a lift if he needs one and not to be too brave about it. He said he's got a low pain threshold, anyway, to which I replied 'yes, I think men have; women can take more pain because they have to', to which he replied 'yes, but men have to live with women, don't they?'! He hasn't lost his sense of humour anyway!

Well, floor is dry now so a quick whiz around downstairs with the hoover and I'm off.

    See you all later.

I had mixed feelings on this.

One i found it shocking the amount of perfectly good food that goes to waste and that would be perfectly edible and two, it turned my stomach to think of eating anything out of a bin, wrapped or otherwise :(

Also, regardless of what they say, its paramount to stealing as they don't own the produce they are removing from the bins. They know it too with there "we grab what we can and run" raids which makes it even worse. Great example they are setting their children.

It made me laugh that he said he would never beg and yet was asking people for donations they were spending on themselves. He preached that god provides whatever they need and yet failed to read in the bible that "Thou shall not steal". I love how they can read what they like into things and ignore others :)

I also noticed they never ever answered the questions asked about using society for what they need but not contributing from the millionaire family.

Its the poor child i felt sorry for. He was embarrassed and ashamed enough to be dropped 1/4 mile away from his school and longed for a house or flat :(

    OK OK
I'm a house husband but it did sound better my way

What horrified me wasn't the removing food from bins.... I wouldn't regard that as theft... whoever had thrown it away obviously didn't want it! Regard it as 'reusing, recycling'.

What did p me off was the fact that he had obviously removed himself from the 'system' and therefore not working or paying taxes, NI etc, BUT happy enough to avail himself of the facilities that the rest of the hard-working, taxpaying citizens have to pay for. I expect the bins were emptied on their caravan site, sewage from the toilet disposal etc etc, dentist, doctors etc etc. WE are all supporting him dossing around!
