Morning all. Just a quickie from me because we almost overslept. Woke up just in time to get DH organised for work and see him off. Very cold here but it's going to be another nice day - the weekend was great, weatherwise, but not so great for DS1 who has been in agony with pain in his back. It sounds like a slipped disc to me. He went to the local drop-in clinic but the queue was so long he gave up. I'm on standby to take him to the doctor some time today, hopefully. DIL was going to take the day off work but there's no point if I can take him. He's very fit usually, does lots of sports and runs (but that may be the problem!) so he's pretty cross. He wanted to spend the weekend gardening but ended up lying on the floor for most of it.
Anyway, WM is on and the breakfast dishes need clearing up and then I shall busy myself sorting out my stash of wool which is in a real mess. I won't plan much because I don't know when I'll be taking DS1 to the doctor.
Chicken Something for dinner (I haven't decided yet).
Anyway, must go and get a wiggle on. Hope everyone has a great day. I didn't get back on the thread yesterday - will try and catch up later.
See ya!

Morning All!
N9eav, we don't have half-term till next week! Still, it gives me a week off after this week, which I'm dreading.
Taking my Dad to our GP this morning, then tomorrow got to go and buy food for Thursday. At least it doesn't look like it'll rain. BBC website says cloud, which will be okay, the thought of having to have Mamma's funeral in the ain is horrid.
I'm still not sure if it's sunk in yet, I keep thinking she's still up the road with Daddy. My DD and DS wrote their cards for the flowers last night. They put some beautiful things. I didn't realise that young poeple could be so sensitive.
Sorry for sounding miserable, but I feel it today.
Hope everyone enjoys their day tho.:oI Believe in saving money!!!:T

N9EAV party sounds great, am looking forward to having one myself when I finish this s*****g degree in July.
Hope all is well haven't managed to catch up since Sunday. Am off to Asda when DS goes to school. Half-term is next week. Only a small shop today, also want to go into Lidl as they have yarn and crochet sets for sale today. Homebase is also on my list.
Rest of the day will be spent studying and sorting out the utility room which looks like a bomb site. OH was looking for something and everything is everywhere:mad: .
Dinner will be either HM pizza or cottage pie, not sure yet. Off to get DS breakfast and hang out the washing.
Have a good day all.

Morning folks
Up early this morning, despite not getting to bed until half 2.
sparklewing The only difference with using eating apples is that you don't put any sugar in them when you stew them down. They will take a bit longer to cook down as well.
I am at work at 12, day off again tomorrow though. Will go an have a shower in a minute, then I am not sure what to do this morning - stay home and clean, stay home and knit/look on Ebay or go and mooch around the charity shops in Liskeard. Hmm...
Not sure whats for dinner, we are trying to run our big freezer down as it really needs defrosting. Probably kebabs or something...
Hope you all have a good day xxWe must all suffer one of two things: the pain of discipline or the pain of regret and disappointment0 -

Might be requesting help later as planning to attempt an apple pie for tea. Got some eating apples that need using, I assume they will work as well as cooking apples, just be a bit mushier?
Will need less sugar than normal as they'll be sweeter than cooking apples. HTH.
Hello everyone, I'm a "born again" OS'er (following a recent brief stray into a very materialistic way of life). I'm off work for a 2nd week following surgery last week. I normally leap out of bed and rush off to w**k without an opportunity to log on so this is a special treat for me. I'm feeling better than last week but still tired. I think some gentle experimentation with my new slow cooker is in order. I'm going to take a slow and steady walk to the butchers for fresh air and fresh meat. I'm going to cancel a magazine subscription to a recipe magazine and recycle the 2006 and 2007 magazines (i.e. read February editions now for "what's in season" etc - that doesn't change year on year does it?!). I'm going to try some de-cluttering too, nothing strenuous as I'm supposed to be resting!
I hope everyone has a good day. I think I'll pop back later and tell you all where I got to, I've got a lot of catching up to do as I've been spending and squandering for months and I need to remind myself of basic principles.Highest debt - £24500

Good morning everyone :hello:
I can't believe that it's half term and I'm up so early! :wall: Well, there is a method to my madness as I'm going to see a friend in Luton. I've never been to her house before - we normally meet half way and I've NEVER been to Luton.
I've got such a busy three days (even though I'm not working!) that I had to succumb to doing an online shop at Mr T's. No meat though, as that will get done on Thursday at our local butcher. DH and I will survive the next few days on items in the freezer! It's going to be a real lottery.......
Having said that, there's some pate in the fridge which I bought at a Christmas craft fayre. (don't worry, it's got a shelf life of 2yrs!) That'll be tonight's supper sorted out....... and tomorrow night I'll be at my parents' house and DH will be left a portion of soup....... from the freezer.
I booked tickets last night for the theatre. :j :j DH and I are going to London in April, staying at the Park Lane Hilton (Tesco Clubcard points!), afternoon tea at the Dorchester (his birthday treat to me) and then a show in the evening (my parents' birthday present to me!). I managed to get two tickets to The History Boys that I've wanted to see for AGES. I'm so excited!
Anyway, I need to leave in about 45 mins and I haven't had a shower.
Have a good Monday everyone

morning all
lovely sunny morning here today. Having to take DS to doc though as he is very wheezy, hasn't slept and his inhalers aren't making any difference to the tightness in his chest or the wheezing. Think he may have a chest infection.
Been online to Debenhams. Missed out on the lovely hat, scarf and gloves set for £10 but did manage to bag a Matthew Williamson scarf and matching hat plus a wooden puzzle set all for £12.30 after using codes found on the codes and vouchers thread. Original prices were around £40 in total so very happy and I remembered to use Quidco! :j
W**k today at some point - if I can ever get through to the surgery  (trying while I type and getting nowhere fast). Don't know if DS should go to school today as he is sounding rough.
Dinner tonight is roast chicken, lots of veg and mash. Lunch is chicken salad with leftover roasted veg from yesterday. May heat the veg and chicken before adding them to the leaves - a warm salad. Yum.
Have a marvellous Monday. xx"Bad planning on your part does not constitute an emergency on my part."

Good morning everyone,
Half term here, and just one extra here, so should be a quiet day. DS is going to a sports event today, and if he enjoys it, tomorrow as well - so made him his packed lunch earlier.
Got loads of gardening done yesterday, and finished painting the fence, which has needed finishing off since before xmas - so a very good job done. Just need to find out if/what i can start planting, so a trip to the gardening board in a moment!
Normal cleaning to be done today, and i have already finished my clicks, so im off now to have a shower before the little one gets here (9.30). Might make HM pasta later, promised the children we would give it a go after we saw Jamie Oliver make it the other day - we dont have a pasta machine so could be interesting!!!
Hope everyone has a lovely day,
Take care xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
OHHH, postman has just been, and ive won a copy of Gordon Ramsays Fast Food!!!0
