Tiscali Troubles

  • Hello

yes i have sky digital (2 boxes @31.00 per month)

I have tried all this. I have entered my postcode on line and can get 16mb broadband and sky talk (free evening and weekend calls) supposedly free for the first 3 months then £10.00 per month. I got my mac code from tiscali, gave it to Sky but have been shunted around from one dept to dept. Some depts tell me i can get sky talk, other sky depts tell me i can get it and the broadband. Or one but not the other. But surprise surprise there are hidden activaion charges. (£20)

To be honest i lost my temper big time, I am on the phone to Sky (AGAIN!). this is the 3rd hour. I want to claim back for wasted calls so i need help there to start off with.

I am trying to get through to a sky rep, and again i am being passed around from dept to dept. I am on the verge of hanging up and phoning tiscali to stay with them after all. As i dont know mmy status, does this mean that now i have given my mac code to sky, will tiscali cut me off within the next few months?

I am SO STRESSED. I am NOT paying for these calls to sky. I want compensation b4 i go any further :-( ?

    Im SOOOOOOOOOOOOO angry !

I still cannot get through to Sky so i think i will stay with tiscali. now i have to call them to find out if i can stay with them now that they released their mac code to me.

    HELP !!!!!!!!

    Justin x
  • Please help!! I am looking for new broadband provider as going wireless and seems good time to look at suppliers. Have been with Tiscali for nearly 9 years since they were WorldOnline and never had a problem. However worried now hearing about all these probs and anxious a wireless router won't come, so don't want to tie myself to a contract if dodgy. Been shopping around but can't seem to get something for around £15/month without a low usage limit. Don't have sky and tied in to bt calls contract so can't do a bundle. Thanks everyone.
  • I've been following this thread on and off for the past year since signing up to Tiscali myself ( before I saw this thread ). At the risk of tempting fate I haven't had any problems with them at all. except for when I first set up my connection and had problems with the settings which were sorted out by a very helpful man on the helpline. The modem came within the specified time and was the correct one. I had a probelem with the wep key but that was untill I realised that The first two digits were zeros not O's.
I only have the basic package so my line rental is still with BT. The only annoyance is with the people from Tiscali who phone up occasionally and wont believe that I dont want to 'save money on my phone bills' by switching my line rental over to them. I subscribe to the 'better the devil you know' school of thought when it comes to phoneline rental.
