  • I find it much better to peel, chop, then boil for about 10 minutes before freezing as I think they have much more flavour when you come to cook them again x

    I peel, chop & freeze allsorts of leftover veg.
    It's saved me a lot of money.

    Hubby has come home with a lot of packs of green beans - we have too many to eat fresh - can I freeze them without blanching please? I don't mind if they are soft after freezing - they can go in casseroles.

    short answer? Yes! But, personally I prefer to blanch fresh greens - just in case there is a bug or something harboured within!

    I just text my mum for you :D She said you can but she doesn't. She just bags them up into the amounts she wants and freezes them :)

    Yes, no need to blanch at all. We're still eating last years home grown green beans. The grow very very well :D Just top and tail and slice into pieces.

    The just bag them up until the bag is full, just like a bag full you get from the supermarket. Then take out however many you want, just as you would from a bag of supermarket frozen veg.

    I am thinking of buying a joint of beef not sure what type of joint is suitable! I want to cook it then slice it into meal size portions and then freeze them. So suggestions would be most welcome as to the type of joint and the best place to buy the beef. Thanks
