Icing on the cake for me was the fact that they got the dates wrong on the letter. An extra six days at 6.5%
To think it was an internal transfer too.:rotfl:

Same here, I got the interest adjusted, then another letter saying the maturity date is now 23 days later so an extra 23 days interest for me !!!

Personally, I wouldn't worry as long as you have less than £50k in it.

Like Icesave, your money will be secure, should the worst happen. You will receive it in full - albeit after a not insignificant delay.

If you have more than £50k, you will also be reasonably safe, given that Gordo and Al bailed out everyone with money in Icesave. However, it may be prudent to move any excess over £50k elsewhere if you're that worried.
  • I was one of the lucky ones and opened this ISA on 16/2/08. Interest at the full rate was credited yesterday, but from then the interest rate has dropped to 1.5%.

They offer a new Fixed Rate ISA (12 month) at 3.2%, which seems quite competetive at the moment, but the lesson seems to be not to assume that the 6.5% will continue - it won't!!!
  • Thank you for the reassurance-am going to stay put-afterall where else
am I going to get 6.5%!!
Interested in above post though as I received letter start of feb to say interest would be paid to anniversary of deposit -will be a bit miffed if it stops at application date!

That doesn't sound lucky at all.
Are you saying they paid interest up to anniversary of opening despite letters being sent out suggesting otherwise?

If it was opened with a deposit(?) then that will be the date of account opening.
Don`t steal - the Government doesn`t like the competition

  • Got our confirmation letters today. By todays standards 3.75% seems a good deal.
  • Just to clarify - the initial deposit was made at the time of opening the account - 12 months as promised.

I must have missed something - where is 3,75% on offer ?

I referred to it above, but I realise I put it in the wrong thread. That figure refers to the early bird Lloyds Frisa for 2009, for which there is a separate thread, although those rates have now expired. there is another offer quoted, with lower rates.

    Hi!

Just wondering if anyone could help please. I received a letter from Lloyds confirming that my LTSB FRISA account anniversary is in May 09. As the rate is 6.5% , I wonder if i could transfer my Nationwide Member ISA bond (measley 1 ish %)into LTSB FRISA 6.5% ? There seem to be differing experiences on here, some say OK and others saying No?

    Thanks in advance.
