    hi all,

i called T-Mobile yesterday to cancel and was offered the £5 deal for 300mins/unlimited texts. Its a 24 month contract (tried my hardest to get it down to 12 but wasn't happening). I also carried on with my mobile internet for a fiver a month. Should I have tried to get more out of them (free internet, handset etc.) or does that seem an ok deal? Seems like some people have got a lot more for there money, though I did think it was quite a good deal at the time.

Did you get the Nokia 6303 phone with that?
  • nope, no handset. Should I ring back and complain/try and blag the 6303 or is it too late now.
  • you could of got a free 12 mnth deal with a cheapy nokia with bmp with 300 mins. its cashback so would need to claim but easy so you need a fone to make it worth while. get a 6303 if you can you can flog it for about 50 quid.:D

Wow would they go that far to get someones number? So how did you get around that one? I was going to go with the friend reccommend the tarriff. Thanks for the number offer =D x

I said there was bad reception and would have to call them back later!:rotfl:

They told me that there are over a thousand upgrade advisors in call centres across the UK so you're guaranteed to get a different person and manager with each call.
  • Can i just say that just because a friend or family member got a particular deal doesnt mean that everyone will be entitled to it. These deals are usually put together using an individual customer loyalty value (spend). And your spend could be different to your friends. Deals that are available to everyone are the deals that your see online & instore (these are direct match deals) what you see is what you get no changes.

But if your say your friend was on exactly the same contract as you then it shouldn't make a different if neither you go ever go over the limit. I was on the 'Combi 30' like I think 'becominganobsessivesaver' #741 was on. This was £30 a month for 12 months for 300 minutes - it was a cashback deal of course though
  • these deals are on offer so just push and push. if no then just end deal and see if they bite.:D
  • Been with T-mobile 10 years, on renewal got a nokia 6600i, 300 mins, unlimited texts for £10.00 per month, but got little or no reception with phone, would only get reception if took battery and sim card out and back in again. Also annoyed the hell out of me with the backlight going off so quickly. Returned under distance selling regs. Hopefully will have more success with Sony Ericsson w995 for £5.00 per month, but only 100 mins, still unlimited texts. Advisor said new plans next month.
2008 wins. DVD player together with Now quiz/Now 2008 DVDs,£25.00 Real People, pair of tickets for London Eye.
  • jones did you get a fone. still not sure with upgrade yet.

    Hello all.

    Quick question.

Do you go to the upgrades option or 'thinking of leaving' when trying to get a better deal?

My contract is up, would really like an Iphone but I doubt they'll offer it, but would also be interested in a G2 Touch if they throw in free internet.....
