T-Mobile Retentions

On T-Mobile and due for renewal, was on the old £35 call plan package, plus 7.50 for mobile internet.
Told them I wanted to cancel, as was moving to O2 for an i-phone.
They reduced the call plan to £30 including mobile internet, and gave me an I-phone 3G.
They were previously doing this for high spend customers, £75 per month or more, but had not heard of it for lower spend customers until now.“The great enemy of the truth is very often not the lie – deliberate, contrived, and dishonest – but the myth, persistent, persuasive, and unrealistic.
Belief in myths allows the comfort of opinion without the discomfort of thought.”

Its available to all customers I believe but the iphone offers are not that different to those you could get on other networks. The plan for the iphones on tmobile are here: http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showthread.html?t=2058287&page=3
Also worth mentioning that if you have the 50% employee discount they won't let you have it on the iphone... was told they may allow you to put it on after 12 months but I wouldn't count on it!0 -
according to the t-mobile website i can upgrade after the 31st Dec. What does that mean exactly?
Am i in the last month of the my contract at that point or is that me into the last 3 months?
If it is the last 3 months and i upgrade what happens to the last 3 months of my current contract? are they just wiped? or is the new 18 (or 24) month contract added onto the end of it?
cheers,The difference between genius and stupidity is that genius has its limits0 -

your contract will simply start from when you recieve your new phone ... if there is 3 months left then they are simply discarded. However if you are upgrading 3 months early then the offers made to you arent as good as they will be if you wait until your final month of contract. Call CS to find out more info.

I may give that a try. Did you have to pay for the i-phone?0 -

Been with T-mobile now for 12 months... I had a 12mth contract with a new LG Renior and with cashback it's been a fairly cheap contract. The Renior has been a great camera but just not a very good phone!
I now want a new phone and the HTC HD2 or Hero are what I am looking for. I'd hazard a guess that T-mobile offer me nothing in retentions, although I know as a new customer I could get the HD2 for just over £35pm and the Hero for £26 both over 18 months. I don't mind paying around £500 over the term for a phone that will have all my iPhone loving workmates frothing from the mouth for :rotfl:
If T-mobile don't make it worth my while to stay with them I'd be asking for the PAC!0 -
I've called T-mobile and to be honest was a bit surprised... the deal doesn't seem too bad...
HTC HD2 for £49 the 24 mth contract at £20 per month, that includes 300 x-network minutes, unlimited texts (rarely use) and unlimited internet (which with the HD2 I should use quite alot). This makes the phone and contract about £530 total.
I can upgrade in a few days and the person I was dealing with said he'll call me then to see if I have made my mind up.
Problem is I can't really upgrade for another month because my final 12month bill showing my current contract is required for cashback.
Also 24 months is a very long contract period.0 -
I've just been offered 300 cross network minutes plus unlimited texts, free nokia 6303 on a 24 month contract for £5 a month. As I'm not too fussed about what phone I have this seemed like a pretty good deal. Also saves cashback hassle. I only had a cheap 12 month contract before and was assured that my last months bill would still be ok for my redemption0
