I was told the same when i tried to upgrade last week, thought it sounded fishy! Very annoying as id planned to get a new phone as my xmas pressie! All i can say is the deals had better be good next year of ill be off to another provider!

I have taken the £5 loyalty bonus,but I noticed they have changed the end of contract from December 2008 to May 2010 and when I rang them up they said my upgrade isn't due til then.
Anybody else had this happen to them?

As far as I know, that's the only way the system will accept the discount. The contract you signed should state 'no minimum term', but your contract expriy online for example will show 12/18 months from now.

Only a month to wait so it's not the end of the world. What were the upgrades like just before they started putting off the upgrades till Jan? I'm on flext 30 but tend to go over by £2-5 a month so i'm planning on going for the new blackberry bold in Jan, they will probably want me to up my contract but if I go to flext £35 I won't be paying much more anyway......what are my chances folks?

hi. I am with T mob. My contract was to end in October so I emailed them my goodbyes as speaking on the phone to them (several times) they could not give me a good deal. I use approx 200min and 200tx per month. I was about to sign up with vodaphone when I got a last minute call from them offering me my 200 of each for £5 a month if I signed up for 18 months. I can have internet extra if I need it. £90 for 18months, kept my phone, could not say no.

Had this today too. No upgrade available till Jan, but I got £10 a month off my payments for 6 months. Fairly happy with my phone so don't mind not upgrading, but the £10 is very handy

There was a lot of fraud connected with the old scheme, hence its death! Apparently T-Mob shops were offering the discount to get sales, so I heard.

I have an iphone and I might be tempted over to a G1 as my iphone does not connect via edge or 3g as its jailbroken and its only another fiver for the G1 over my current charges.

Unfortunatly, thats completely true - many were also using them to get discount in other stores, discount for discount sort of way. And staff were fraudently using other staff member's details. Shame really, we had no warning, and the old Employee discount was great... the new one only the length of the contract.. not half as good

My sister doesnt actually have staff discount as such with T-mobile she works for supplier and she got the 50% off all the monthly contracts so i'm not sure if this will apply to her as well

I get the half price line rental and found that upgrading was always more difficult due to the discount on my account...
