due for renewal in 1 month so was able to access my t mobile upgrades yesturday.
looking on the t mobile site i could get a range of rubbish phones for free or pay £125 for an upgrade ( not too impressed at that point) i could also get £5 off a month my line rental if i signed up for another 12 months and kept my existing mobile. I am already on Flext 25 paying £20 amonth so thought if i could get this for £15 with the extra £5 off it would be worth my while as im ok with the phone i have.
Spoke to someone in retentions who said i couldnt do that, that i could have it for £20 a month though.. as i was already on this and could have stayed on it without tying myself into a contract it didnt seem a great deal to me so i refused. sraight away he offered me a samsung G600 with memory card and bluetooth headset for free and i could keep on my flext 25 and pay £20 a month.
Deal done, i'm happy, in fact it was too easy.. got that suspicious feeling now0 -
I’m not particularly good at negotiating new deals, but what do you reckon my chances are for this:
I’ve got two 18 month contracts due up for renewal in May – one’s Flext20 paying £20p/m, the others Flext25 paying £25p/m.
Want to upgrade the phones (to Samsung G600 + Nokia E51) and also see if there’s any mileage in reducing the monthly cost. I hardly ever go over the allowance on either though, which I guess goes against me?
As a new customer, I could get the G600 free on Flext20 for £15p/m and the E51 free on Flext25 for £25p/m – Any chance I could get anywhere near that with retentions??

with my recent renewal hardly ever going over allowance they offered the new customer deal for Felext20 £15 with BOTH free weekends AND free evenings when I pushed them, and an E51
I didn't take this up though. The thanks button is here to the right. If you find a post saves you money, gives you useful information, or you agree with it, take a second to thank the poster!

I have two contracts on flext 35 and did not get exactly what I wanted when they were due for upgrade one of them I could only get ten pound off the line rental and a crap phone and the other I already had at only 17.99 per month so, quite good for flext 35 but they would only offer 10 off online or to keep what I already had when I called them. My husband on the other hand did not even try that hard to get much out of them and he now gets his u fix 20 for free yes free.
I threatened to cancel both contracts and go to other networks I hung on right to the bitter end but still I feel he got the better deal with one quick call. Could still be down to who you get on the other end of the phone.0 -
Hi
Currently, I am on Flex £20. Been offered as part of my renewal,on an 18 mnth contract the following:
Either - line rental £5 pounds. or line rental is £10, but with a free Nokia 6500 classic.
Do you guys think I should push for anything else?
I think it's a pretty good offer. It was the 1st they gave me, and I didnt know what to say, apart from, yes, considering it was a pretty good deal.
thanks.0 -
Hey, wondering what you think I should try and get. I'm at the end of my web n walk mobile broadband contract - currently paying £19.99 for unlimited use (subject to fair use). I don't need a new dongle. Any ideas? they are offering new customers £15 which I would hope to beat - do you think I could get £10 or what do you think?0

Due to renew on t-mobile & have what I think is a v good deal for my beeds.
I'm on the old 50 texts and 750mins off peak to t-moble & landlines tarriff. The real cost is some £15, but over the last 4 or so years, have managed to drag the cost down and it's now £3.99pm with a free phone each time.
Was thinking of bargaining a little with them to reduce the amount of minutes in order to get a cross network amount, but for £3.99 I think the check is going a bit too far & they'd be laughing at me.
I know they can't go any lower, but was wondering what would be a good mid range phone? I have a sony K510i and it's ok. Any suggestions?

I've been offered the chance to upgrade my phone now. I've been given two options - £10 off my bills from now on, and for me to keep the phone I have now (W850i) or a free upgrade which includes the phones I'm looking for. LG Viewty and N95 are the two phones that I'm considering!
I'd like views on these please, and also would I get a better deal/haggle more if i got on the phone to them?
If so, what can I haggle on?

T-Mobile's retentions deals are pretty crap in my experience.
Remember that if you're upgraded onto a new Flext contract, voicemail is no longer included in the allowance.0 -
Definitely haggle - I did exactly this last week!
First of all, check out other deals on the market. This one sounds good for you:
O2 (direct from O2's website)
£40 a month with 1 inclusive bolt-on (unlimited web browsing / landline calls etc)
1200 inclusive minutes
1000 inclusive texts
LG Viewty (black/silver)
£100 cashback via Quidco
I called up Orange and asked them to match this deal - although they didn't match it exactly, they did:
- Increase my inclusive minutes/text
- Decrease my monthly payment
- Add 30MB web browsing for free
- Upgrade to the LG Viewty
- Threw in a 2GB memory card
There's no reason T Mobile can't do something similarAnd the LG Viewty is a very nice phone! Love playing with the camera :rotfl:.
