I think the iphone is laughable - its aimed at the kids that have never had any of the functions that it offers on previous phones. Anyone that has had 3g/data/internet/music/videos/mpegs etc. like me thinks its a load of *****. I can't beleive people are paying for it as well. Hliarious. They dont seem to realise that everything it does has been around for ages. Great marketing though.
I am glad you know people with the N95 as I haven't heard anything good yet but that doesn't mean it isn't out there. I will definately have a look at it. No satnav though
What do you use?0 -
oohps sorry - it can come with copilot - BUT its expensive like that - can;t see me getting away with that one.0

I use the N95. Before that the 6100 which is a slim entry level nokia.
The n95 has a Sat Nav you are aware of that right?0 -

Copilot is just the software. You can use nokia maps or google maps with sat nav capability for free.
Its only if you want "voice prompts" etc when copilot is advantageous.
So you could get the N95 without copilot cheaper.0 -

Ah I see - does the N95 have inbuilt gps then? That would work fine. I dont need all that voice rubbish - just to be able to pin point location and work out where I am going etc.0 -

Yup. and you can always "buy" the software later. It comes with a 10 day evaluation anyway.
Google maps is quite clever, it also uses telephone masts to get a quick good guess position and then GPS to finish it off.
My colleague uses both Nokia and Google Maps, so has both on his phone.
Nokia - usually downloads map like google when needed however if you buy a big card you can download them all. Meaning no need for 3G and when in a 2G area you don't have to wait a little while to get map info.
Google Maps - considered better, also has the yellow pages style find a restaurant/cinema/flowers/any business search which is ideal..... but can't download the maps.
Benefit of both these map tools is that the'll work anywhere in the world. Thats when Nokia is useful to avoid the 3G data charges abroad,.0 -
Its funny - I obviously dont look like the target market for a new phone. Today I went into 02, tmobile, carphone warehouse (2 branches), phones4U and vodafone and not one person approached me or asked me if I needed help.0

I am just trawling the net to see whats available at the moment because I need a new phone and I need an unlimited data tarif - I dont need many minutes or texts and I am struggling.
3 -£15 300 mins/texts mixture & £5 for x-seriesSO... now England its the Scots turn to say dont leave the UK, stay in Europe with us in the UK, dont let the tories fool you like they did us with empty lies... You will be leaving the UK aswell as Europe0 -
Have read a few posts on here about T-Mobile being stingy so and so's. Just wondered what success people have had with an upgrade.
I'm on flext35 with a 25% discount so I don't want to lose that but I want a new phone. The ones they've offered aren't great and any phone I've liked they either want to increase the line rental or make me pay for a phone.
Anyone got a success story and I don't mean by getting the rental reduced more, I mean just with getting a good phone.
Star74 you should be able to get the same deal
Free weekend calls end 31/01/08
and the £5 flext line rental discount ends 29th February.
Have a look at the deals on their website, if your looking for upgrade or a new line, this seems to be the best deal without going through cashbackNearly debt free

I have just finished my contract with T-Mobile, 18 months, Flext 35. I have been looking to get the black Nokia N95 with co-pilot (the new one), and also (if possible) reduce my monthly tariff. I have checked with T-Mobile but they are really stingy and they want to make me pay for it (I have seen it in their own website, cheaper than the deal they were offering) someone told me to change to O2 and get (the black Nokia) through Phones4u, there was an offer where you could get it really cheap with the contract, however when I went there I wasn't offered the same as I expected and they wanted me to pay the whole lot for the phone. I am not really interested in connecting to the web, only in accessing the maps that can take you from place to place.
Does anyone know of any good deal that has worked to get this phone? I was expecting to get something better with the excuse of January sales.0
