  • I'm looking for a HTC desire S, 100 mins, 200 texts and 250 mb internet is probably enough for me.

What sort of price should I be looking to get?

    Many thanks

    At the moment I pay O2 £10.21 a month for 150 minutes/300 texts/no data. I'm on a SIM-only one-month rolling contract.

For the same price, T-Mobile's offering 300 minutes/300 texts/unlimited browsing + 500MB of download in exchange for a 12-month contract.

My main goal is to get some mobile data. Does anyone know what kind of deal I could get from the retentions people?

    Thanks.
I have just finished a £40/month iphone contract, sold my iphone a few months back and switched to a samsung galaxy s2 so have no real desire for a with handset contract at the moment. Retentions immediately offered me a 12 month simplicity for £8.50/month (£5/month discount) - got 300 minutes, unlimited texts and 100mb data. At the moment I am on maternity leave and we don't have data reception at home (and have wifi) so I'm not using much mobile data, when I go back to work I will probably start using more so I asked what would happen if I want more data, it will be an extra £3 for 500mb. The 12 month contract only applies for if you want to leave to another network, if I wish to take up a handset contract again on O2 in due course I will be able to do so immediately. Suits me perfectly really.

Found on 'dial a phone': 02 Free HTC Desire 100 mins, 500 texts, 500mb unlimited wifi 5 months free: price to compare £17.02 a month plus £50.50 from topcash back. I wonder if 02 will beat that directly?

just got offered the following deals, was just going to go onto giffgaff and wait for new samsung s3 to hit the market and the iphone 5 to start a price war!

but these offers were better than I expected - what do people think?

Iphone 4S 16GB (White or Black)
    12 months
500 mins, unlimited texts, 500mb data
    handset price £130
    £37 per month

    HTC sensation XE
    12 months
500 mins, unlimited texts, 500mb data
    handset price £175!
    £37 per month

Iphone 4S 16GB (White or Black) or HTC Sensation XE
    18 months
500 mins, unlimited texts, 500mb data
    handset price FREE
    £37 per month

managed to sweeten the deal on this yesterday a little with free 02 to 02 calls, could not beat it anywhere online or as a new customer, even phoned up vodafone to see if they would offer a deal as I have my work phone and wife plus NHS discount available - no joy

forgot to see if they would throw in any accessories as they were not able to increase the minutes or the data at all without the prices changing

    Final Deal : 500min, unlimited texts, 500mb data, unlimited 02 to 02 calls, £37 per month for 12 months, £130 upfront for a black iphone 4S 16gb.

I was previously classed as a silver customer just off a £20 per month for 2 years contract

i suppose 12 months is better than 2 YEAR CONTRACT

thats my reasoning, i can then move to payg giffgaff and could generate credit through helping out on the forums and referring...

the 18 month deal seems good to me as well, the costs are not much different if you factor in the comparable payg costs for the extra 6 months vs the 12 month contract

all down to personal preference at the end of the day

    I got:

    Iphone 4s 16gb 12 month contract
    £165 for the phone
    6 months at £37

    inclusive of:
    500 mins (300 + 200 extra free) (at £37)
    5000 texts
    20 picture messages
    500mb data

then the second 6 months at £32 if I wish to drop down my minutes to 200 + 200 extra free per month

I thought this was a good deal

The BB9900 came in at more expensive - even the operator couldn't believe it!

seems ok, the move to a cheaper contract was a feature for me as well, you should be able to shave a bit more off the handset price though

Can you explain how you managed this (mentioning of any other offers, etc.)? Obviously, my bargaining skills have taken a bit of a turn for the worse. This is what I was offered when I called today:

    500min,
    Unlimited Texts,
    500MB Data,
£37 per month for 12 months,
    £165.90 handset cost for iPhone 4S 16GB.
