got a phonecall today from phones4u/dialaphone who I got my o2 contract with originally and was offered a free Galaxy Nexus on o2 with 500 mins/unlimited texts/500mb for £32 pm for 24 months.
thoughts? anyone been offered a better deal for the Galaxy Nexus?

Is that the newest galaxy phone? I feel really out of tocuh with phones now contracts are getting longer and I don't look around very often :rotfl:

I can upgrade from today so have been looking at what I can get. I currently have a blackberry curve 8250 with unlimited texts, 100 mins and no data for £18.50 a month.

I did want the HTC Sensation but o2 don't do it, so looked at the Samsung S2 instead. As an upgrade I could get that for £24 a month with unlimited texts, 300 mins, 100mb data for 24 months and a free phone. This is by far the best deal I can see as other operators were charging anything from £31 upwards.

However! This wasn't my first choice phone, the HTC one was which I can get with 3, Orange and Tesco mobile for the same price as the S2 but with more minutes and data so I'm trying to see what deal o2 retentions can do, but their systems are currently down so need to try calling later.

I'm hoping for either more data and minutes or ideally the package they are offering but at a cheaper price, being a student and only working part time I need all the savings I can get :rotfl:

Finally got through to retentions again and the systems are back up but the deal I've mentioned is the absolute best they can do as the phone is in the sale so that package was a lot more and could still go back to the old price.

yes it is the newest one. You've been offered a pretty good deal there by the looks of things. Dialaphone do a few (effectively) cheaper deals but they may involve cashback or a few quid up front.

just got offered the following deals, was just going to go onto giffgaff and wait for new samsung s3 to hit the market and the iphone 5 to start a price war!

but these offers were better than I expected - what do people think?

Iphone 4S 16GB (White or Black)
    12 months
500 mins, unlimited texts, 500mb data
    handset price £130
    £37 per month

    HTC sensation XE
    12 months
500 mins, unlimited texts, 500mb data
    handset price £175!
    £37 per month

Iphone 4S 16GB (White or Black) or HTC Sensation XE
    18 months
500 mins, unlimited texts, 500mb data
    handset price FREE
    £37 per month

last deal works out 92 more, 222 of 37 x 6 minus the 130 up front

Am minded to go for the 12 month deal, and sell on the handset for a new blitzer after a year

it appears to beat the cashback deals and anything via topcashback elsewhere

    Open to challenge on that

i was not comparing like for like - factoring in a giffgaff 15 per month sim only for 6 months after = 90, so £2 difference

O2 said i can downgrade contract to o2 300 after 6 months bringing contract to 32 per month, i see to be hankering after sensation xe, even though it will likely depreciate quicker than the iphone 4s... going to sleep on it
