chances of getting a discount might be low, but it wont cost you anything to find out .. so, phone 202 from your mobile. select the option which says 'if you are thinking of leaving' and see what they can do.
Thanks very much for your help. Phoning the general upgrade number was a disaster and they couldn't offer anything any good. Best deal was 18 month £35 a month blackberry bold (refurb) I will look at that number now.
Edit: Just phoned, said I should phone back tomorow but immediately said they could offer better than the general upgrades number.0 -

why did they ask you to phone back tomorrow ? Usually they offer a deal there and then..unless their systems are down.0 -

Because according to this particular woman, tomorow is the earliest date to upgrade possible, as opposed to today. Doesn't really bother me. Is there a significantly better chance of getting a better deal with this number than the general upgrade #? I really seemed to be getting nowhere earlier.0 -

this might help you
I rang O2 last month and just asked for my PAC code, none of this upgrade malarky, they asked why and I said Vodafone have made me a great offer and I don't think they could beat it, now Vodafone hadn't made me an offer I just made it up. She then said she could do
free Blackberry Curve 8900
400 anytime/network minutes
unlimited texts
unlimited blackberry internet
unlimited o2 to o2 calls
£15 for 18 months.
I then sold the Blackberry for £300 to a work colleague. Happy days!:beer:0 -
Have just spoke to O2 redemptions, gave them the line about good deals with other networks etc. They offered me bog standard deals that show online, asked if they could do any better and was told not. They said they would send my PAC for me to leave and didnt seem interested in trying to keep me at all!! Have been with them for 5 years too and have always got good upgrade deals.0

I have spoken with O2 numerous times about upgrading with me paying for a phone and having a higher monthly tariff and they will not upgrade me 3 months earlier! now if i spend more money monthly with them they would let me!
Well they can shove it I would rather go somewhere else with my money if that is their attitude :mad:Just started comping - Wins - January 2011 - £10 sports Direct Voucher, Fru Tea bags, No7 Mascara
Feb wins - The lovers 3d Bluray. March Wins - One born every minute book :T

Not many customers have contracts which provide early upgrades.
But in any case, if you need more calls you can increase your tariff now, and then talk about upgrade/retention in 3 months time.
In addition, if you really want a new phone now, you could buy it anyway and then do a retentions deal with cash instead of a phone0 -
I called up for my PAC on the 24th of June only to find out that my min 12 months were up on the 25th of July so I was a day too early. The CS girl asked why I wanted the PAC and I stated bluntly that I could not afford it anymore and wanted tp port to a payg sim.She told me to call again on the 1st of July because they would then have my account details and be able to offer a deal to me. I don't know if she was b*llsh*tting me but it seems at odds to the responses that most have been getting this month from retentions. Perhaps they have felt the expected customer backlash and will be forced into backtraking after only a month.
It will make no difference to me as I am still going to go (unless I get a deal costing a couple of quid per month - fat chance)0 -
this is just crazy, O2 seemingly were the best for renewal deals, what's happening?:beer:0
