I got the 5800 this morning, and was told the demand is crazy for it.

    Yeah tell me about it.
I think the demand has made them give less attractive offers as they know people will accept their £24 - £27 range, compared to the earlier £20 for the same mins, text and free internet.

    1000 text
    600 mins
    free bolt on
    free nokia 5800
    £27p/m.

wouldnt match the OLD dial a phone offer that was similar but no internet and £20 p/m. By that time, i asked for my pac, then i missed the offer!

Well i got my pac, just wondering where to go.
I could wait for o2 to have diff phones, or move to a diff network. But i want inclusive mms and video calling :(

I've just come of the phone to o2 and been offered -

    200 mins
    1400 txt
    Free o2 to o2 calls
    18 month contract
    £10 a month
£150 Automatic Credit for not takin a new phone
    Works out at £1.66 a month !

I then asked him if they have got any Home Broadband deals and he came back with

8 meg Speed – Said my line will take 6 Meg
    Unlimited Downloads
    £2.50 a month for as long as I’m a o2 customer !

Anyone any idea how long the £150 credit takes ?
Does that just go into your bank ?

Wouldn't even bother renewing with O2 if I were you. My phone went on the blink a week ago yesterday. I've stayed in twice for them to send me a new one - but nothing has been delivered and now they want £600 as a termination fee. Avoid O2 like the plague
that`s not my experience with them they will bend over backwards to help in my experience,I moved to o2 in April 2008 got the SE K850i it was faulty after 2 months they replaced it in the first 6 months my phone has been faulty, eventually they gave me the Nokia classic 6220 £50 credit and free texts they also give you free txts on your actual birth day,I now have a SE 850i and a Nokia Classic 6220 though I only am using one the other for back up,O2 are excellent and their customer services are excellent too in my opinion:beer:

    Well finally renewed, got:

    Free Blackberry 8900 Curve
    600 min
    1000 text
    Unlimited web bolt-on
    Free itemised billing
    Home broadband for £2.50/month

All for £20/month on 18 month contract.

Plan to sell the phone, they appear to be going for upto £300 on ebay so hopefully I'll be paying under £5/month once I've cashed in.

The bloke on retentions said he thought the phone is unlocked, has anyone got a 8900 direct from o2 and checked this?

That looks like an amazing offer - how did you get them to give you 1400 texts? The most they'd offer me was 1000 and 600 mins for £15 a month with the £150 credit.

As far as I am aware the £15 credit goes straight into your O2 account when you take up the offer, meaning your account should be in credit now if you have accepted.

But are the people that are being offered the broadband, existing broadband customers?

And is it the phone retention team that is offering it or the broadband team?

I need to know so that I can hit the right one with my request.
That's my mutt in the picture above.

When i phoned he asked why i'm leaving - i said I've seen a T-Mobile Cashback deal 200 mins Unlimited texts and he came back with that offer.
I slipped up really as I wanted more Mins so asked him If i could reduce the texts and increase the mins but he said no. 200mins will do for most months so I've accepted it.

I'm currently with Sky Broadband, I phoned to request my Mobile PAC code, sorted my phone deal out and then once that was done I said " I don't suppose you have any Home Broadband deals ? " and he came back with my offer.
So sort ya phone deal out then at the end ask if they got any deals on the Home Broadband ! ;)

I quoted T-Mobile's Solo £15 deal which gives unlimited texts for £15 a month - they most they'd give me was 1000 texts a month...

Maybe I should try again, or maybe you were just lucky....
