I've been with o2 for 5 years now and always fight for one hell of a bargain at the end of my contracts.

I'm currently on, 800 mins, unlimited texts, unlimited internet and free N95 for £35 p/m.

I rang up yesterday to upgrade as I'm in the last month, after 6 phone calls, 2 hours and 3 threats to leave later, I walked away with this...

Free Apple iPhone 3G 16GB, 900 mins, unlimited texts, unlimited internet, unlimited landline calls, unlimited o2 to o2 calls, only a 12 month contract for £30 a month.:T

Now please don't shoot the messenger on this one,but I have just phoned 02 to try and squeeze a bit more out of their original offer, and the guy I spoke to,said there is no way that you would have got all of this, unless you were the Chairman of 02!!!!

Like I said, don't shoot the messenger.
That's my mutt in the picture above.

nah, your wrong both are foc on a £35 tariff so should give the same amount offlexibility on the tariff give or take a couple of quid ;)

I'm not wrong at all.. The C905 comes with a charge on the £35 tariff. And, like I said earlier, the LG renoir is free on £30.

That's highly unbelievable. The iPhone isnt' available on ANY 12 month tariff as they have their own tariffs. The only way they could have done it is by offering a subscription discount from 45 tariff, but it'd be a 18month contract regardless. Plus, no iphone tariff has 900mins... Either someone's put you on a normal tariff with the iPhone or they told you porkies. It may get flagged if that's the case.

Edit - No tariffs come with 900 mins.. 600, 800 or 1200.. No bolt ons would make it to 900.

Well, didn't quite get the full deal I was hoping for, but was reasonably pleased with the final outcome...

Wanted a Blackberry 8900 curve (found the 9000 too bulky), but out of stock, so "settled" for:

    Free Blackberry 8310 curve
Free Bluetooth headset (part of a Blackberry 8310 promotion/sponshorship)
    400mins/500txts
    Free Blackberry bolt on
    £10 credit to my account
£17.50/ 24months (happy with a 24 month deal, as it saves me the hassle of re-negotiating for 2 years)

Was hoping for £15/month, but £17.50 is still a darn site cheaper than my current £30/month contract.

The guy was really appologetic that he couldn't do any more for me, but I have only been with O2 for 11 months, so I hadn't built up enough "loyalty" to bring it down any further.

Looking forward to trying out my first Blackberry.

    Kevin.

    A quick follow up.

Just had a call from the guy I spoke to at retentions. He went out of his way to go speak with his manager after we had finished our chatting, and he has now organised of the above for me for £15/month (even though we had agreed £17.50/month).

He didn't need to do that, so it was a really nice suprise when he called. Major Kudos to O2 retentions. Very helpful and very pleasant. Extremely happy with my deal now.

Even he'd be lucky to get that.

Sorry, I don't think he's got that tariff at all, for starters there is no 12m iphone tariffs, 2nd of all even the most newest of retention staff know you can't discount the iphone.

I could have had an I Phone, but I was warned that it would either be a refurb or a customer return.I politely declined.

I have to ring back on Monday to hopefully tie up my deal to include the Nokia 5800.
That's my mutt in the picture above.
