Just called 0870 600 7102. I was offered the Samsung Soul! (not very impressed) and the usual discounts. 1200 mins, 1000 txts and an unlimited bolt on for £27. I'm now on the £10 simplicity deal. I asked about the Pixon but this isn't available until next week. I'm taking out a new cash back deal with Orange as the Pixon is available.
I've just ordered the LG Renoir, free phone, 750 mins, Unlimited txts and unlimited off-peak web browsing with Orange. 14 months half price line rental on a cash back deal. Works out at £24.44 a month. The deal that o2 offered me was that bad I decided not to hang around for a phone call.0 -
Just to let people know that if you’re willing to try different avenues and bide you time, you may be able to get a good deal by going for a SIM only deal from O2 and buying a phone from eBay** (especially as those phones are often brand new, unwanted upgrades).
For one of my contracts this year I wasn’t offered a particularly good phone unless I wanted to spend circa £40/£45 (or more) per month.
I therefore took a SIM only offer from retentions and bought a phone from Ebay so have ended up with:• 250 mins
• 100 texts
• Unlimited O2 to O2 calls
• Unlimited web bolt on
• £150 credit
• £10 off per month a £25 pm tariff (= £15 pm)• HTC Tytn IIThis all works out at £15pm (give or take a few pennies) for pretty much exactly what I wanted.
** Usual caveats about buying from eBay apply obviously0 -
How much did you get the HTC for? Im looking to do the same thing myself...:A Luke 6:38 :AThe above post is either from personal experience or is my opinion based on the person God has made me and the way I understand things. Please don't be offended if that opinion differs from yours, but feel free to click the 'Thanks' button if it's at all helpful!0

I've been keeping an eye on lots of auctions for the past couple of weeks and set myself a budget of between £170 (inc P&P) for one approx 6 months old & locked and £220ish for a fairly new one that's unlocked.
Got mine at 3:15 am this morning for £163 all in (approx 6 months old & locked) from what appears to be a reliable eBayer (fingers crossed).
Recent ones have gone from about £135 for a well used/scratched one to over £200 for a newish one. I've noticed that some are setting their starting price and/or BIN price too high and those appear not to go at all.
It's worth persevering and getting the right one for you. Good luck...
PS - Be aware that there a few people out to spoil some of these auctions (whatever their reason may be). See no. 110312397422 & 260312707427.0 -

Reading some posts it seems I may have been able to wrangle a credit to my account?
I may need to call back during my Cooling Off period.
The guy I spoke to at O2 retentions said they are expecting iPhone discounts in the New Year, but he had no further information. He readily told me this without asking about iPhone discounts.
Hi
I went for the £20 simplicity package (600 mins, 1000 texts) and managed to get unlimited web allowance and free itemised billing. Probably more flexibility with the £20 package. Not a great deal but at least I can jump ship, if something better comes along.0 -
I ended up going for the simplicity 600mins/1000 txt/web bolt-on package at £20 too. I'm hoping they're going to start offering the HTC Touch HD and then I'll probably try and get one of those on a package deal.0
-
Like others I've been on the £20 Simplicity for added flexibility of jumping ship. Plus I can get the Iphone if they discount the PAYG version - I'm hoping they will when a new model is imminent. I loathe 12/18 month contracts now that pay monthly sims are perfectly fine for most of my needs0

Me too. Eventually things might become like in America where picking up a phone SIM free is actually a viable option - not because SIM free phones become cheaper but because contract deals become too long and costly :-/0 -
Just wondering, I got a PAC code a few weeks ago and have just "upgraded" to the Simplicity £20 package. What would happen if I tried to use the PAC code now?0
-
If you use the PAC it will switch your number over and cancel your contract with O2. I am not sure if the 30 day minimum term with Simplicity is rigourously enforced or not - upgrading or simply giving your 30 days attracts no penalty.0
