I've had a look on ravelry but the only things I've found I like are knitted in the round. The yarn I have is 4ply but can't say any more than that as I no longer have the band. I have about 150 grams of yarn. Thanks
What is your problem with knitting in the round? I love it because it means less seaming up (my pet hatred). I can give you tips, if you need them.
- PipI was wondering if, like my friend’s mum, your technique would make knitting-in-the-round difficult. (She clamps her ?right needle under her arm. Can’t knit with circulars at all.).
Did you try the Trove patterns? Any luck?
- Pip
I found some trove patterns and the couple I liked were old copies and I couldn't read them. Did manage to find a pattern I like that came in an age 4 so have saved that for when my great niece is that age and instead doing her a dress in some dk I have. Having trouble already as not sure if I should be gaining stitches or going wrong 😂Did owe £9,951.96

PipneyJane said:@Savvy_Sue - I don't knit socks two at a time, but that's mainly because a) I usually do them on 6 inch DPNs and b) on the odd occasion when I've been forced to knit from both ends of a ball at the same time, it's been a nightmare. I do knit sleeves in the round, two at a time on a long circular needle.
I've been known to cannibalise the toe of a sock, in order to "feed" the knitting of the other, until I can get them both the same length, then knit the remainder of the foot on both socks in a different yarn.

It's a smooth yarn, @MrsCD, so quite easy to frog. I believe it wears well but I've never worn a pair of socks that I've made in it. I've made - and given away - three pairs.Savvy_Sue said:PipneyJane said:@Savvy_Sue - I don't knit socks two at a time, but that's mainly because a) I usually do them on 6 inch DPNs and b) on the odd occasion when I've been forced to knit from both ends of a ball at the same time, it's been a nightmare. I've been known to cannibalise the toe of a sock, in order to "feed" the knitting of the other, until I can get them both the same length, then knit the remainder of the foot on both socks in a different yarn.- You will need either two long circulars (over 1m in length) or two sets of interchangeable tips with a long cable, in the needle sizes required by the pattern/your gauge. It helps if you have two balls of yarn, too.
- With the smaller tips, cast on the first sleeve. Then, using the second ball of yarn, cast on the second sleeve.
- Working flat, work three rows of the cuff rib specified in the pattern. Work the first cuff, then the second cuff, for each row. Towards the end of the second sleeve, hang a row counter from a stitch marker. This will mark where the rounds end, so that you can keep track.
- Commence working in the round on the fourth row. First, turn your knitting so that the yarn is dangling from the right hand side. (The second sleeve should be on your right.) Now, ensure that your knitting lies smooth and isn't twisted. At the midpoint of each sleeve, pull out a length of cable (about six inches long will do). The sleeves should fold in half. Is the second sleeve still on your right? Good. Are they still untwisted? Good. Pull the yarn for the left sleeve under the cable and work the fourth round on it. When you have finished it, your needle tips will be in the right place to start the fourth round of the second sleeve. The sleeve "seam" will always be in the middle of your cable needle.
- Continue knitting until you get to the underarm cast-offs and then swap to knitting flat for the sleeve heads. (It won't sit flat for a dozen or so rows, so don't panic.)

PipneyJane said:Savvy_Sue said:Knitting two sleeves at a time sounds 'interesting'. I'm thinking I should look at Youtube for how to knit two socks at once, but I do agree that knitting from both ends of the same ball of wool is tricky - the wool twists and tangles. I've done baby bootees that way, I've got a strange pattern, and because they're small you can get away with using the same ball.

Not a lot of knitting going on here at the moment, but I have crocheted a set of angel wings and a star for my friend who has knitted a nativity set. I've also crocheted numerous mask clips for nurses in a local hospital, and I've sewed about a dozen fabric masks for a friend, DH and me! Thinking I might start some ankle socks with left over sock wool. Take care all 😊2025 Fashion on the ration

I'm in awe of people making all these socks with the skinny yarns!
I loom knit but the lovely people on this thread have allowed me in.
I do a drawstring cast on for 44, then do a basic 'ewrap' which I think translate as knit stitch for 5 rows, then 5 rows of garter stitch (one row knit, one row purl repeat 5 times), 5 rows of the ewrap again and then drawstring cast off. Cinch both ends and they end up a bit or a puffed up round flannel?

I don't use shower gels (my business is natural vegan soap making) so for me they work more for boosting circulation and then I use them as part of my rinsing off as opposed to applying the soap to them or for increasing bubbles (Like plastic ones do with shower gel). So buff to boost, soap onto skin, buff to rinse if that makes sense?
