They look amazing, I was looking at them myself but can't justify any spending or adding any more to my stash 😊suki1964 said:wondercollie said:Their are some fabulous colours of cotton out there. Hobbii in Denmark (mail order) has some terrific ranges, and no to pricy.
OK, knitters, here's my question for today. Those of you who have completed a mitre square blanket, how did you edge it? Mine is at 14 x 14 right now and the other half has decided he wants it for a car blanket but has asked for an edge. I've heard of people doing a single crochet edging but has anyone any other ideas. I had thought of blanket stich seaming it?
Thats my recent cotton order from Hobbii, and thats not the half of my stash

To be fair you can spend that on a jumper in the shops. At least this one will be more special as you made it plus it'll be unique as no one else will have one like it 😀baboushkat said:@PipneyJane Hi, thank you!
The pattern is Lightning Storm by Emily Manasc. Think I spent around £40 on the yarn for it, it's just Drops.
I did make a little knitted top called Camisole No. 2 by My Favourite Things in a fingering weight silk blend just before I started this one and I think getting that done gave me the push I needed to finally put the time in for a jumper

The Octopus For Preemies Charity are very very strict. Every make is on a 1.75 up to 2.25 hook, its all yarn under and no holes anywhere, they are hard on the hands. Being new to it all Ive had learn all the skills needed as well as find a yarn that I can work with easily and I have to say the Rainbow Mercerised has just become my holy grail yarn. It is so soft, doesn't split and just glides of the hook. The Cotton Kings is nice as well. Before I found these I was preferring Ice, but that is expensive and hard to find. All those were sale/end of line so very reasonablelynseydee said:

I think I now have a yarn fetish
I just love the feel of them and the colours and whilst this lot will take a year to crochet up, I cant stop looking at yarns lol 1 -
Suki we all have that why do you think we all have massive stashes of yarn? Everyone but the newest knitter has more yarn than they could possibly used if the knitted and crocheted 24/7 for the rest of their lives.

I finished a sock last night. Possibly the worst Kitchener Stitch you've ever seen - but it feels good on the inside!
Signature removed for peace of mind1 -
I'm sure I've quoted elsewhere that "buying and using yarn are two separate hobbies". (I wish I could remember who said that!)nursemaggie said:Suki we all have that why do you think we all have massive stashes of yarn? I finished a jumper at the weekend. When we first went into Lockdown, I was cold all the time and daydreamed about a warm cable jumper. This is the result. It's the Clarendon Hill Jumper by Blacker. I modified the neckline because I didn't like the boatneck shown in the pattern.:-

It ain’t what you do, it’s the way that you do it - that’s what gets results!

It is very warm. I had to wait 3 days for it to cool down enough to wear.
There were a few days when I was working on the yoke when it was just too hot to knit on this jumper. Fortunately, I always have a pair of socks on the go.

I was going to say were you having to put it away till the autumn, as it's quite warm now (which it is in the South-East), but then thought that maybe you live in some Northern cold exposed area !
Thank you!
